So like most people I am not super pumped about the split release. I had plans to buy a PS3 because I feared my wifes computer wouldnt be able to handle the game. After hearing about the split release I ran the benchmark on the wifes computer just to see how bad it would be. Her computer scored a 2600 in low res mode. While 2600 isnt great going by the chart she should be able to run the game in default settings. So anyways my plan is to buy the game for her on PC and when the PS3 version comes out(if her computer doesnt perform as well as she would like) I will buy a PS3 and one of us will start playing on the PS3. Do you guys think we will be able to convert one of our accounts to PS3 or will we have to start new accounts?

With FFXI the accounts were universal. They stay on the SE server so there was no such thing as a PC or PS2 or 360 account. No matter what client you used to access XI, your account was still available to you. I'm absolutely certain this will be the same for XIV.

Thx for the help : )

Does anyone feel 2640ish will be good enough to play the game on PC long term if I am cool with playing on low graphic settings?

Should be fine. In fact, I believe that's exactly how the benchmark describes a score in that range. Capable of running the game, lower settings may improve performance.
