Do you know if you'll have the preorder codes for the goggles on the 22nd?

Wondering if I can bribe/trick an employee to fork over a code for them when it comes out :)

Edit: Would be fun to get 094892390320932 tells on launch day asking how I have both lol.

I think this has been said a few dozen times here already, but if you preorder the CE you get both. Onion Helm comes with the CE only, the goggles you get if you preorder -- no matter the edition

Negative, SE has stated that CE = helmet, SE = goggles, neither have both.

I've stated it before, I'll say it again:

The codes will be working 1 of 3 ways (I will post a thread when our intranet site details the CE and pre-order bonus).

1. The codes are in the box. This is the only way that people will get one code or the other, and not both. This is packaged in first editions by S-E themselves and Game Stop has nothing to do with it.

2. Rave cards. These are promo cards sent to the stores with codes and instructions, that are to be handed out at the time of pre-order pickup. This is the worst of the 3 because MANY times they will send fewer codes than pre-orders.

3. Digitally Distributed Sku. This is a new system where the employee types a SKU into the POS. It will then print the code onto the receipt itself. There are two pluses to this; A. Gamestop typically doesn't run out of these codes, and B. They can be printed off independently from the actual purchase of the game, meaning if they forget, you can call them later and get the code over the phone. However be warned that they will want receipt information if you try to call and get the code over the phone, to prevent people from hoarding codes.

One last note brought up in another thread:
Game Stop requires 10$ deposits on CE's, and only 5$ on regular editions. If you put down 5$, OR Pre-ordered prior to 6-30, you only have a regular edition ordered, you need to go back to the store to switch it over.

Why has everyone turned into a scammer all of a sudden? Take the code you get with the version you bought and be done with it. You don't even know if you'll be able to use the goggles code at the CE launch so what are you going to do if you can't? Wait 8 days to play just so you can have both? And what if they only issue the coupon codes (ie. no electronic codes available)? Someone who pre-ordered the standard addition has to go without so you can be a selfish monkey? C'mon. Get a grip.

I believe they'll most likely do cards, as not many games put their preorder bonuses in the box, and I've never seen a game use the SKU thing yet.

Edit: The codes will most likely work right away, no reason for them not to.

Edit2: Way to rate topic down for a question.

@ Thunderblaze:

The SKU system is new, but we've been using them for ALMOST every new title in the last 6 months. The Starcraft 2 beta, Tiger Woods extra course, Skate 3 map packs, UFC extra fighters, and many, many more came this way. I personally believe that We're either going to use this system, OR S-E is going to pre-package them, the wording on the official website makes it sound like its a package deal, not a traditional "Pre-orders get this, and CE's also get this" thing.

Thank you and green arrow for you. I checked my receipt and the clerk only put a quantity of 1 CE on my order. I saw $10 and thought it was right.

I "used" to be a manager for both EB and GameStop. There is one of two ways these codes normally happen.

First- Which is normally the case, The codes are sent on little sheets of paper, like tickets or stickers and they almost NEVER send enough of them to cover all of the preorders. (This had so many people screaming at us on other mmo's and I cant say I blame them)

Second- which is rarely the case, the codes will come inside the box. Kinda like the first batch of codes that were in FFXIII. Now being this is SE, Im gonna go out on a limb and say they will be in the box on the first batch of games sent. (This also means any extra they send will also have the code in them.

Like I said before, I used to work there, but not anymore so you may want to call them time to time and find out if they get the codes in the paper form. If it is that way, I'd highly suggest that you go pick one up asap since they do not always have enough. (Or like many stores in my district, get misplaced :P )

Well, here's to hoping I can bribe a female employee with a date for one somehow :)

That only works the other way around (If you're female and flirt with a male employee). The thing about -avid- female gamers (No, Farmville/Wii Sports do not count) is that they're infrequent enough that they can have their pick from the male gamers.

Males don't flirt with female employees to get things; females flirt with male employees to get things. That's the way it always is, anywhere (not just limited to gaming). You're not going to be able to offer a date as a bribe to someone who could just as easily get dates with two more people on her way from the counter to the store's door.

Gender equality, indeed.

Knowing SE, it would not surprise me if you got banned for having both items. They've banned for less.

Like Mikhalia said, you assume you can have both active on your account.

Extra revenue for them. Besides, they wouldn't ban me for a game store clerk's mistake in giving me both :)

I recommend ruffies.

haha, firefox spellcheck wanted to change that to ruffles. I guess both might work.
#19xthunderblazex, Posted: Jul 05 2010 at 8:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Osarion, ruffles would probably work better, seeing as how most gamer girls are generally fat, and would love to be bribed with junk food.

I can't believe how much time so many people are spending thinking about some lame-*** vanity items. All the weapon/class threads are dead so you devote your entire left hemisphere to the possibilities of goggles and hats. Blows my mind.

I have a fiancee who would object to that comment.

The codes will bo on the card you got from FFXIII from inside the game box. Remember you need to install the codes first then make you character. If you don't you will not get the bonus items.

Funny, when you take 'em you hit the floor, maybe they should call them "floories"....Gogo Hangover quote!

Like i said i will post a final report on how these codes will be distributed when our system updates with the information, it should be in the next 1-3 days (our email newsletter sent out today had FFXIV as the primary feature!).
The only hold up would be if S-E doesn't tell us (Gamestop) how the codes will be coming.
