Given the class abilities known so far, what do you think you will want to play as?

Include the main class, and any sub abilities you would want.

I'll personally want to play as a

Gladiator tank with:
defender(from marauder)
bloodbath(from marauder)
mocking provoke(from pugilist)
chakra(from pugilist)
cure(from conjurer)
stoneskin(from conjurer)
life surge(from lancer)

With all that healing ability, could probably have no trouble soloing things.

I don't think we will be given complete freedom to make any hybrid type we want. There will be a limited number of abilities we can have equipped at any given time, I'm sure.

Other than that thought though, I can have wild fun imagining the possibilities. A class that can heal and nuke at the same time. Tank and nuke. DD and heal. Steal and heal.

The possibilities nearly overwhelm me. I can't wait until I get to see it, I'm just trying not to get my hopes too high in the event of disappointment.

Personally I think I'm starting as a Pugilist. I might go a more tank route with some defensive abilities from other classes. I might go with the, apparently, native evasion method that Pug comes with. I might also try to amplify my damage, or give myself solo ability with some healing skill.

In the end I plan to try all types of hybrids. Learning what I can do in any given situation has me very excited indeed. Speculation ftw.

*digs up old fireman costume* It's for the flames. :)

There are limitations, of course, think of Blue Mage in FFXI. They also said certain abilities would not be able to be used on other classes, but with the info out right now, it's always fun to design your own class and see what other think as well.

Okay for the fun on it, Ill make a conjurer weaver mix. with fun made up abilities :P
1) Bandaids! cures in the bandages causing extra hp gain!
2) Flaming threads! threads fly out wrap around an oponent and burst into flames!
3) Shocking threads! threads and lighting paralyze and enemy causing hp loss for durration of effect.
4) Threads of fate! Conjure up some threads bound to the enemys chakra and cut them to deal damage or have loss to stats for a temperary period of time.

cant think of any more right now but its a start ;)

I want to try this (not sure how all of the abilities work in terms of making all the characters), but:

Conjuror (All abilities and focused on cure):
(for blood rite and initiation, and drain/sacrifice spells)

Obviously I don't know 100% how the game's going to play, but I hope that this will be a good healer.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a combination of spellblade and dark knight but with a pole arm, if it's possible.

I'm hoping to be able to mix Marauder and Lancer. It seems like it could be a valuable combo.
