This was taken from FFXIVCore who took it from ffxiv-fan.rulez.jp/ who apparently got it from Dengeki Playstation Volume 474.

Quote:
Stats used in Beta

* HP, MP, and TP, which were raised by physical bonus points in the alpha, will now go up automatically.
* Strength, Vitality, Dexterity, Mind, Intelligence, and Piety will be raised by physical bonus points.
* Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning, and Water elemental properties will be raised by elemental bonus
* Agility, Charisma, and Luck have been scrapped
* Physical and elemental bonus points will be earned when physical level raises.

Destroying body parts
By damaging or destroying a monster’s body parts or an enemy’s weapon during battle, a few things can happen. In some cases, they will be unable to use certain special attacks, the number of items dropped will increase, or the drop rate for certain items will increase.

Actions must be set to the main- or sub-weapon

* The action bar has been increased to 30 slots. Each action has an action cost which is used when set to the action bar, and even if you still have slots left in your action bar, you cannot go over your action cost.
* Actions must be set to the main- or sub-weapon. For example, phalanx, a move related to the shield, will most likely need to be set to the shield in your sub-weapon slot.
* There are three pages of slots for actions, for a total of 30 slots.
* There is a page of 10 slots for special class characteristics.
* There is a page of 10 slots for crafting abilities.

I'm curious about how the slots are utilized on screen, all footage shown thus far has shown a single 10-slot bar in the user interface. I've seen images/footage from press releases showing the "slot" setting window that shows three 10-slot bar sets, but how they're utilized in the UI is still a mystery to me. Same with the two additional 10-slot bars that hold class-specific and craft-specific abilities. Mainly, I'm curious if you can display more than one bar at any given time, or if you are required to use a paging bar system.

My assumption is that it's probably paged, like XI's macros were; 10 on screen at a time, but you can switch between which 10.

I remember an E3 Beta video detailing this very thing, you page bars by pressing down on the keyboard

What's Piety?
And I wonder why they scrapped AGI, CHR and LCK.

Speaking in terms of the definition, it's duty, sanctimony, honor, that sort of concept. The notion of being righteous and just.

As for how it translates to an ingame stat, I'm not sure; I figure Mind/Wisdom would be the "Healing stat" so maybe it's taking the place of a Charisma/Luck; that is to say an intangible stat; a "character quality" rather than something physically describable (like STR or DEX).

Yeah it should be, need to be able to access them quickly I think (dont know for sure, dont play beta), but 10 keys at once is just enough to make it user freindly without overdoing it.

In my opinion, the most interesting part of the OP's info, is being able to destroy body parts, and in return it actually causing the monster to drop some. Kinda reminds me of Monster Hunter. I have gone from a disappointed ps3 user, to an intrigued ps3 user.

peity probably will be tied to god-related abilities?

exactly, the part about the UI didn't excite me at all compared to the breakable monster parts/weapons!

so freaking awesome!

If this is the kind of stuff they are working on, I really can't complain about the coal, just be patient and wait for the diamond.

I would be a little bit bummed out about them droping Luck, CHR, and AGI, but i kind of like the idea.In FFXI, CHR didn't seem to do much of anything. Luck would be a storage killer. I can imagine having to have a lot of +Luck gear for farming. AGI not being there, is just one more stat we won't have to waste points on.

Luck is a storage killer. Good point!

CHR was pretty useful for pet-based jobs though. Does this indicate that pet-based jobs are not on the aggenda?

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.
