I'm probably going to play for awhile to see how everything goes. But I like your thoughts on what a LS should be. I will keep you in mind!

I've been with these guys for a few weeks now, and even though the game hasn't even been released, I'm having a great time on the forums. In my short time there I have come to genuinely like the people there. And that makes the release of the game just that much more fun for me, knowing that I'll be able to talk to all of these great people more often. And having a great group of people that you LIKE to see log in goes a really really long way in enjoying the MMO for me.

It's a very active community full of very nice people. The forums are well visited and well posted in. There are, I think 9 of us currently in the Beta also.

We have fun plans for sight-seeing trips through Eorzea when the game is released, a pretty even number of people planning to start in EACH of the 3 cities.

If you're on the fence at all, I suggest checking out the forums and browsing around.

And that is my public service message for today.

I am signing up. I was lucky enough to get into an awesome linkshell with minimal drama in xi and had some of the most fun I have ever had in a game with the awesome people. I ended up meeting some in rl later because these people ended up being really freaking cool.

Hey Endless, if you end up on whatever Kernak becomes, tag Misfit Stormrider. I've started building up a similar linkshell in Beta and we're looking to do the same again in Open and subscription.

If you don't end up on Kernak, but folks here do, hit me up or anyone you see from Brothers of the Siege. I missed not having a linkshell interested in doing the 'interesting' stuff, like garrisons and the like (only found one), and hope to have a linkshell that is more interested in the 'fun' stuff than the endgame. I'll be based in LL personally but the shell should have 3 city coverage from the start.

If you do end up on Kernak, this could be a lot of fun. :) Luck with your shell!

After a flurry of me posting in the transcendance forums, I have been too busy in beta to post recently.

Game is awesome despite all the QQ'ing - people would just rather have the entire game explained to them rather than work it out for themselves - how dare SE not tell us the quickest, easiest way to get to endgame, and how dare they encourage people to level multiple jobs despite the fact that the whole purpose of the armoury system was to do just that (some people just ignore 3+ years of info released about the game.

Rant over (dont know where that came from).

Still waiting for an announcement of server names so we can decide where to play. Hope you are all well!

This sounds really good indeed, most probably I would like to join, unless my real life friends or my wife get bound with another community before the game release.

EndlessJourney, if you don't mind me to ask... is this your first experience as a leader of an online group? if it isn't, would you tell us a bit about it?, putting special emphasis on the time they lasted together.

Thank you very much in advance.

Ken

I can't speak for Endless obviously. But just in case he doesn't pop into Zam for a while, I don't want to leave your question unanswered. So here's my answer based on what I know.

From what I've read on his other posts, he led multiple FFXI LS, both social ones as well as strict HNMLS types. I think they lasted a couple of years if not more. As for this one, he's intending to build it for longevity for sure. Taken from his blog: "But most importantly, I want to make a community that will last. It's part of why I'm calling it "Transcendence". I want a community full of mature and like minded individuals. One that escapes needless drama, pointless arguments and immature activity of any sort."

Drop by our forum, check out the mission statement and ask more questions there. I think you'll like what you find, :)

Just wanted to throw out an update that the RPC will be beginning the vote on what server they select as the unofficial RP server, and I would encourage Transcendence to roll on that server-- I think it will be a mutually beneficial fit. In particular, a lot of RP'ers will be looking for a cool non-RP LS that allows them to accomplish game goals while still encouraging the easy-going attitude that Transcendence aims to embody. And maybe a few of your non-RPers will find enjoyment in a different side of the game.

There should be an official announcement by the zam admins when a decision is reached.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

So server names are the same for final release as they are in beta!

I know this since to keep your name in final retail release, you have to stay on the same server!

Where are we going to play and I will make sure I role my main on open beta on that server?

Well, the RPC has been using Jecht for beta, but it's likely that Jecht won't even be one of the final servers. Either way, there will be a vote to make the final determination.

I'd like to take this moment to point out that we have real kinds of conversations too. The doughnut-chucking contests are held only on Tuesdays and the linkshell spends Wednesday morning cleaning the walls.

In reference to Endless' original post, whether Transcendence has eight members or eighty, we want people who want to have a good time, who want to take their time and want to be around like minded people. Individually, we all have goals and some of those goals are fairly focused. As a linkshell however, we have no over-arching plan which calls for all members to be x level by x date wearing x armor and to have x number of abilities, or be unworthy. At the same point, if we're going to grow ourselves a wedding cake, somebody's going to have to spread some icing.

I personally am going to toss members Jouhki and Moki at that problem. We might not end up with a cake, but sweet jeebus we'll have a lot of messed up cupcakelets to nosh on.

I'm going to boost this back up for Standard Edition folks. Even though we've still been getting a lot of applications from this thread, even though it's buried probably on page 30 or 40. lol

Anyways, the forums have over 100 registered to it, though some are not active. We probably have around 50 or so people currently pearled up in-game, and there always seems to be at least 10 or so people on at any given time.

Many countries and timezones are represented, so feel free to give us a look!

Boosted also by me.

Fun things that Transcendence have done so far in game (just based on what I have been involved in).

1) Party experience point grind in dungeon in Gridania
2) Shared leves with up to 12 members of the party across the world
3) Shared crafting items with people doing other crafts
4) Entered the game like Koolaid man (Endless - this one goes out to you)
5) Du'od, and tri'od content
6) Share ports to conserve anima
7) died - many, many times
8) Smashed up a bunch of crabs (my personal favourite time)
9) Travelled the world to collect all aetheryte points

And much much more. Join us - its fun!

Oh, and one final point - had some constructive discussion about the games flaws rather than just QQing about nothing.

BUT - I am yet to meet a member who hates the game, we all seem to be having a great time.
