Congratulations on getting in the beta!

Update: The NDA is now lifted for certain types of media, and the posting of screenshots and beta-exclusive information is now allowed on the forums. Video and music are still NOT allowed.

I know some people are feeling like rock stars and want to come back to ZAM and give everyone the hookup. Unfortunately, we must comply with the rules of the NDA and anything in violation of those rules will be removed.

So, let's focus on pushing the game to its limits and doing what we can to ensure FFXIV is polished and ready on September 30th. Think of how much more impressed people will be when they hear the damage ratio of left-handed Pugilist strikes was increased by 0.03% for the official release and you can go, "Yea, that was my suggestion."

If you're not a beta tester and reading this thread, you might be wondering where you can get official information about the game.

Official FFXIV Site
FFXIV Twitter

and of course our front page will be updated with news as we continue that long, 2-month march towards release.

I thought you were pointing out a spelling error for a second there. Smiley: dubious

I meant it in a more suggestive sense for other testers rather than implying I had access, but yea I am in. All VanaFest attendees were entered into the Alpha phase.

Please remember that the NDA is still in effect, and the posting of screenshots, movies and beta-exclusive information is not allowed on the forums.

Would that include revealing that you were accepted for the beta? There's been a few posts to that effect already.

EDIT: not including yours, obviously. I don't expect you to ban yourself, being an admin and all. ;)

Newegg is dragging their feet on my computer order. Ordered it Friday and it's still showing as processing. I could really use it right now...

to play my current games.

I'm wondering this too. There's a few folks out there hinting they might have gotten in,and then there's even more just blatantly saying "Yes, I got a beta invite".

Soo.... is that ok, Pikko/Elmer/Other Admins? I can only assume so, since nothing's really been done about it?

I don't think its against the rules to say that you may be invited... I think its more to do with stopping said testers from leaking information not yet ready for public distribution.

Like that stuff earlier today, critisising the FFXIV client. That's bad PR and basically what the NDA is there to prevent. No game is perfect when it is in this stage of development after all.

I do understand the general purpose of the NDA with regards to all that.
The NDA is very clear, however, that saying you're in the Beta is a violation. Alla has been pretty clear that violating the NDA will not be tolerated, and yet this specific violation is going unchecked. I'd just like this clarified by Alla is all.

I have to agree with you Osarion. It's seems like more should be done to keep the talk about beta off of the forums.

SE needs to stop rushing.

Yea, WTF SE, how about you test this stuff properly before you test it properly? Don't you have some kind of beta test or something where you could work out technical issues like this?

Yes, I was. Complaining about technical issues in a beta test is like complaining about cheese and sauce on a pizza.

Cheeseless, sauce-less pizza.

Not that your point wasn't made, but my counterpoint is that people -will- in fact complain about cheese and sauce on a pizza :)

Where I'm from, that's not a pizza, that's a cracker that some one has decided to call a pizza. :D

I love jambalaya seasoning, but I hate sausage. So when I make jambalaya, I make it "wrong" and I use chicken and shrimp instead of sausage and shrimp. There's nothing wrong with that, but when I go to a cajun restaurant and order Jambalaya, I just pick the sausage out of it rather than complain. Even though it's not what I prefer, I know **** well that I'm the one who is wants some thing out of the ordinary.

[edit] got my question answered.

There's going to be a new flood of on-the-line NDA posts as it looks like phase 3 testers cannot post on the official beta forums at all >_> I think they're just server cattle...
