So I can't install the game since it's asking for 12 gig's of free space on my main hard drive. I have plenty of room on my 2nd hard drive but I even moved the install file to that drive and it still didn't work. How do I get around this without trying to get 2.5 more gigs free on my main hard drive? (which is actually sort of difficult tbh...)

I think this is the wrong forum to ask about your issue, one way or the other.

run disc cleanup, usually clears out your temp folder.

but on a sidenote i would suggest never posting anything like this again, usually gets your pee pee slapped.

I'm not in the beta, so I don't know how to help you. There are only two types of people on this forum: People who aren't in the beta, and people who aren't allowed to talk about the beta.

I would think there's gotta be a tech support option for the beta; some way to chat with SE or some beta tester forum or something that you're supposed to use. Purely guessing though.

Edit: I would like to submit a grumble about how annoying it is to know that I didn't get accepted, and there are people who did get accepted and can't get in, like the OP.

Mikhalia: and FWIW, my posts are 95% helpful, informative, or funny.
Mikhalia: only 5% or less of my posts are utter crap.
Tyapex: 393 posts of utter crap...
Mikhalia: Sounds about right.

Usually when you install a game, a program, etc; the installation installs itself to your Windows/TEMP directory. And then it copies it over to the installation directory destination such as Program Files/xxxx. So while you are installing a 5GB file, while it is being installed it could turn into 15GB therefore needing like 20GB free to even install. Even moving the install file to another hard drive won't work because it will still install to your Windows/TEMP due to how the Windows installation utility works, so you would still need that 15 GB post-installation space.

The only logical solution you really have is to just install XP/Vista/7 on your second hard drive and dual boot. What is on the second drive? What is the size of your system drive? There's multiple solutions, just need more information.

I figured it out on my own thanks.

Sorry, next time when I need some quick help I'll just keep my mouth shut and waste another 30 minutes doing it myself like I should have.

Meh. No need to get angry. If you need help just post. Worst case scenario you get replies you don't want to see or Elmer/Pikko will remove your post. But this post isn't delete worthy, you just asked an installation question. Glad you got it to work though. I think you should definitely use your 50GB hard drive for a new OS install or something otherwise you will be back in this situation again when they patch the game more and more up to release :-P Which the first patch will most likely be tomorrow... after you install lol. Have fun in the Beta though.

I have reversed my position on wanting to be in it personally, I don't want to ruin anything. If I didn't have my FF13 Item Code tied to my PlayOnline ID I would just randomly give my invite to someone if I got one. :/

Edit: Using me everywhere there should be a my. Turning into a **** Dwarf :/

Quantum, the thing is people don't mind helping, but I am pretty sure that part of the NDA is not letting anyone know that you have been invited to the beta...
