So I have been hearing that some people got into Beta yesterday. Congrats to all! However, if you happen to find out today when the servers open up, that your computer just doesn't have the necessary equipment to play the beta, then you should hand the info off to someone else to help test the game. The more people the better for us during release! Please PM me if you have absolutely no options to run the beta and you got accepted. I have a computer that scored over 2500 on the benchmark and would love to get in on the action.

It would be very unlikely that anyone in beta can't play the game mainly because you put your computer spec on your application. Now they will chose some low end specs to see how they do and if possible make some graphic scaling to see if this low end model can run it. SE isn't dumb and they know it' in their best interest that people with current computer run FFXIV on the lowest settings right now.

The beta is linked to your account or your emailadress so I see no way that you can avoid that without giving the whole SE account to someone else.

A situation that could occur is if someone put their future PC specs on the beta application not thinking that the game was going to go into beta this early. Or their PC crashed and is no longer operational. With thousands of applications excepted it is fairly likely some people will have had problems.

Very true, it would have to be given out of trust.

Not only would that be a bad idea in general, it would also violate the NDA in addition to the SE account TOS.

This. However:

If pressing the back button on your browser (go on, do it) is any indication, there -are- some people who got accepted and can't run the beta.

As much as I would honestly love to have beta access in place of someone who got in and can't get in, I wouldn't want them to violate the ToS to do it.

However, if something were to show up in my PMs, I wouldn't look a gift horse in my mouth.

Well I agree there might be a person or two that can't play beta based on situations they changed after filling out the application but as far as SE goes they are going to pick computers based on the min requirements they have preset, not a machine that has no chance of running the game. Also right now invites are also going to be based on play hours. Based on your app if you can't play during the set hours you won't get an invite. I'm not surprised I didn't get an invite because I said I can only play early morning/late night. Maybe when it's 24/7 I could see an invite but not now.
