Computer ordering, so frustratedFollow

Frustrated is a nice way of putting it. On Friday, 8am, I placed an order with Newegg for my new PC. As I always have, I chose to have it shipped to work instead of my billing address, which is my home address. Usually placing the order that early means that it ships that day. The end of the day comes and my order is still processing. Ok, fine with that. I know Newegg is closed on the weekends, no big deal. Monday rolls around and it's still showing as processing. I contact support through chat. They inform me that I have been charged and awaiting address verification and if my shipping address is different from billing, it needs to be on file with my bank. I call my bank and it turns out that I can't have multiple addresses on my account, just one. Contact Newegg support again, same scripted reply about address and I tell them that I can't have an address added. They tell me that I will be contacted if there is a problem. End of business day rolls around and it stills shows as processing and no emails about verification problems. Not wanting to wait any more, I cancel my order. Well, I get an email verifying my cancellation saying that I will get my refund in 3-5 days. At this point, it's after hours so no one to contact and I was ready to break something. My bank account is still showing the payment as pending. Not sure how much longer I am going to have to wait.

To top it all off, got my beta invite yesterday and of course my current PC won't even run the benchmark.

I feel your frustration. I have had that happen before. I think it was roughly 3 days before the money was back in my account.

Hopefully the next order goes smoothly. Depending on how far you are from their fulfillment centers you could see most if not all your items in one day.

I live about 3 hours north of their memphis tn shipping center so I usually get most of my items the next day no matter what shipping method I choose.

I know they have fulfillment centers in memphis, new jersey, and california.

Best off luck!

Sorry to hear. :(

Is there no one at home to answer the door so you can have it shipped to your home?

No one at home to sign for it. I looked at my purchase history. 7 out of my 10 purchases where sent to an address that was not my billing address. I can only assume Newegg changed their policy on this.

The order was showing that everything was coming from CA. The case was coming from TN.

Thanks for the heads up on the change. I always ship my items to my folks place since someone is always there, but my billing is set to my house. I will keep that in mind on the next order.

Hopefully the items ship from a warehouse closer to you on your next order. Make sure you don't select the EggSaver Free Shipping that they offer sometimes. If I recall correctly it is a combo of DHL/US postal service. It took forever on an order I placed a while back.

I never noticed it before but went back and looked. On the page where you enter shipping / billing info, across the top, it says to have the addresses on file. This is not an option with my bank. The time loss is what bugs me most. 2 days waiting for processing that appears to have not gone through and now 3-5 for my refund after I canceled.

Based on my experiences with Newegg, they only require a signature for a case and/or a monitor.

If you're ordering either of those, they will be undeliverable and you'll have to go down to a UPS office to pick it up.

Anything else (processor, motherboard, video card, etc) does not require a signature.

Yes, UPS will leave a box filled with $600-1000+ worth of parts on your porch, but not a $50-100 case. Kinda annoying.

My fiancee's brother ordered some new parts to build a system totally from scratch (including monitor and case), not only did the pats get shipped on a separate truck than the monitor and case, but they were ready to leave the parts, but not the other two.

He works till 5 and then had driving school at 6, so I was picking him up from work and dropping him off at driving school. After I dropped him off (I had been watching the tracking number status all day), I ran by his house and UPS just happened to be on the next street over. I pulled up next to the guy and asked if he had been to [his address] with a delivery of computer parts for [his name]. The guy said yeah, but he couldn't deliver because they needed a signature. So I signed for them and chucked them in my back seat. He said he didn't have the rest of the parts, just the monitor and case, but according to his log, he should have had a third package, but said that he looked for it for 10 mins and couldn't find it.

I come around thee corner to his street and there's ANOTHER UPS truck with the third box; again I ask if that's why they're there and take the box from the lady.

It wasn't until I was driving off that I realized the humor that I had just taken about $900 worth of computer **** from two UPS trucks, neither asked for ID, and only one of the two (with the monitor and case) required a signature. The best part was when I looked at the tracking info later; you know how the status says "left on porch" or "left at door"? I **** you not, it said "left with man".

I mean, granted I -was- able to provide them with the address, name, and exactly what they were ordering, so it seemed logical enough that I could have been the recipient. After driving school, I picked him up again and we went back to his place and put it together; had fun.

UPS is weird at times though.

So you canceled your order because you had to wait 2 full days (Fri & Mon) and your item was not shipped out yet?

Now you have to wait even longer to be issued a refund... You're order would have likely been shipped by now.

Patience is a virtue, after all.

LOL! I literally laughed out loud, and I don't do that very often at all from reading forums. Rate up just for that gem.

I canceled my order because 3 people told me that it most likely would not be shipped due to the shipping address not being on file with my bank. After 2 days of it showing as processing, to me it seemed like it was in limbo and not going anywhere and no one could provide further information.
