New Disciplines from Old Weapons?Follow

Well sorry to disappoint you guys! :D I, myself, have no idea what they could be. But I just wanted to point out the fact that each type of discipline has it's own kind of weapon. That being said, judging from all the different types of possible weapons, what kind of class do you think will pop up?

I'll think of something and post later.

EDIT: Why is the thread Sub-Default? o.o

Lots, I'd say close to 20 for melee types.

Well I think guns are going to have something to do with the Musketeer class.

Weapons that differ from the ones I already see... not much. The scythe could possibly mean be something, but I can kind of see it as a polearm weapon. EXCEPT you can't stab with a scythe and stabbing is important to Lancers. Hmm... >:]

Also perhaps whips/chain weapons or iron fans could make an appearance.

I don't know, people are weird around here sometimes.

Besides the ones we know lets see:

Scythe: I'm thinking something like a Dervish this time around since SE is going all different on us (or classic)

2h Mace: I heard something about an Enforcer. Probably a paladin type..smiting evil and such not how it was in FFXI. Think of Retribution paladin in WoW.

Katana: Assassin maybe. I prefer an assassin's creed type of assassin, but SE may go the ninja route. Only maybe they'll do it right this time.

Knife (some specific type) : See above if they choose to have a separate assassin class.

Pole: The Last Airbender.. jk jk.. but something like that would be rad. A true monk, not some UFC Zealot like FFXI's monk was.

That's all that really comes to mind.

Oh yeah. Assassin sounds kind of neat. But it seems as if the Pugilist got some of the abilities that an Assassin or Thief would have. :\

IF there was going to be an Assassin, I'd make them use this thing!

Just a few other interesting weapons that have appeared in previous FF games, don't get much love, and might make for some interesting classes: whips, books, flails, bells.

Interesting. I thought about the whip and flail but didn't even realize the book or bell could ever be considered a weapon. Perhaps the book will revolve a round a future Summoner or Necromancer. ^.- The Bell would certainly be very interesting as well.

And who knows what tools the new DoH/DoL will have...

Clubs, "great" katana, fencing rapiers, bo staves, guns, whips, and 2-handed shields. Plus something for assassins, probably just daggers.

Those are the upcoming weapons I would wager to guess at.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Mmm... Rapiers. Musketeers again. xD

Clubs seem pretty obvious here too, but I can't think what class they'd add it to. The whip however, I can kind of see that as a Beastmaster kind of thing. OR OOOH OOOH I heard they might have a Discipline of the Hand where you can train animals or something like that. :O Whip = that

Actually I think Musketeers would use guns (you know, muskets being guns and all). Rapier users would just be fencers.

As for whips, the lack of pet jobs leads me to believe they'd do something more like a Flayer.

But this is pure speculation. ;)

Err...I'm not quite sure that you're following. In case you aren't, check my very overt hint in your OoT thread.

Did everyone forget about Great Swords or something? That and DW, never see them mentioned in conjunction with new possible classes.
