You know, I was just reading another post about someone spending all day downloading the Beta so they could play it and it made me wonder. Remember in the FFXI days were we would get an insanely huge patch? We would all spend the next 7-10 hours downloading it even if we had an extremely fast connection?

I just hope that Square-Enix has learned from those experiences and end up following other games that are out there and use a bittorentesk type client or some other technology to speed the process. I am sure that since this is a bigger game there will be larger updates and I really hope that they will remove the bottleneck they had in the FFXI Playonline client. FFXI is a sweet game and it was totally worth waiting the 7-10 hours to play. But darn, do you guys remember those crazy downloads?

They seem to have learned from some of xi's mistakes, and at least this was P2P. It's a start.

*I seemed to remember seeing torrent on the updater. My bad.
