Hey folks,

I know a bunch of you have been wondering why we don't utilize community members to assist us in forum moderation to keep our community friendly. The time for wondering is almost over! We're looking for volunteer moderators to help with our FFXIV community as release approaches!

For information on how you can help and possibly be picked up as a part-time hire (depending on performance), see our Help Wanted page:

Given the amount of time I spend here and my general qualifications, it would make sense for me to apply anyway, but if I did, I'd feel I should be a better example and not get scrappy with people who cross me. Unless you're looking for a stern sort of moderator, someone who can bang the hammer. I could be like Judge Judy, with balls, if Judge Judy didn't already have balls. You know, sassy but classy, the way a judge ought to be.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

If anything, you'd see more of me because I wouldn't be so bitter about having to come here so often to deal with old cranky posters. lol

lol, I also get the sense that she's talking about you.

Yeah, you should give the job to me. I love dealing with cranky posters. That's like the main reason I come here.

Hahaha. I guess I'm famous.

I was actually a mod and then an admin for Cobalt Flux forums for a few years back before they got taken down. I probably won't have the time to do something like that, though, at least I'd imagine.

Perhaps this disqualifies me from consideration due to lack of knowledge or experience, but what is the expected time commitment?

Applied.
FYI there are just 2 of us in #ffxiv IRC, guessing this isn't the channel name.

I had to post just to see how few forum posts I have made here. 8f

Thank you everyone that applied. I have had so many applications that I have not only already found someone for this first moderator position, but I now have several others that I will likely contact when we pick up more. If I haven't contacted you, it doesn't mean you're not one of them, but it does mean that you have not been chosen for this first one.

Thank you again!

Pikko, I'm just wondering because I always see your forum signature. Is your Lu Shangs moat carp count still really 3565/10000? It seems like it has been stuck at the number for a loooong time!

I'm afraid I don't have the time to commit to this, or I would have applied.

Perhaps when summer's over, if you're still looking for help.
