After learning about the recent release date for FFXIV I've been debating on how to pre order my copy, I'm bent on getting the CE but have been hesitating because of one thing. I'll be heading off to college this fall which means my mailing address is going to change, my question is this; if i pre order my copy now will i be able to change the shipping address on my account before September 22nd without any difficulty or delays in the shipment? If anyone has helpful information on this subject i would appreciate it, thanks.

Go to gamestop.com and look for a store near your college, pre-order with pick up from that store. That way you don't have to worry about shipping at all.

Meryl's idea is very good.

I've only ordered from Amazon, but I do know that you can change the shipping address at any time (5 days) before the day it ships.

(edit: Thanks, Cyber!)

Here is what Amazon.com says about their Release-Day Delivery:
Amazon wrote:
Changing Your Order

Any changes to your order must be made within 5 days of the published release date. Making changes to your delivery address may affect your order's eligibility for Release-Date Delivery. If you do need to change your order, we recommend placing a new pre-order for the item and then canceling your previous order after you are sure you can choose Release-Date Delivery or another applicable shipping option (as indicated in checkout) on the new order.

Basically, if you change your Release-Day Delivery order at any time, you need to confirm that it still qualifies for Release-Day Delivery to your new location. If it's within 5 days of release day, you can't change your order. Other shipping methods don't have these restrictions.

Since you will soon be a college student, if you were thinking of ordering from Amazon, sign-up for Amazon Student ( www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info ) once you get your .edu email address. That will give you a free 1-Year (non-trial, non-renewing) Prime Membership which nets you free Release-Day Delivery, free Two-Day Delivery, and $3.99 One-Day Delivery.

I just signed up for Amazon Student yesterday. They refunded me $60 for my current Prime subscription. :D Amazon ftw.

Don't waste money with Gamestop. Order from Amazon with free Release Date Shipping and no tax. You can change your address at any time before it ships, and they won't rip you off like Gamestop does with tax (in the majority of states), and high shipping rates like Gamestop would.

Amazon will get it to your door on the day of September 22nd for $74.99, not a penny more, and you'll save money in the process. Just be sure to get your free year of Amazon Prime by registering your college e-mail address with them!
