I don't understand why EU Collectors Edition gets the mug and the map and NA Collectors Edition don't? Are they paying the same amount we are for the Collectors Edition?

Why not get someone in the UK/EU to buy you a CE and send them the money through PayPal? Or find a company that will ship you the EU version. Warning SE were not friendly on this. I had to get all FFXI expansions from USA as well as the initial codes were region locked, the reason I finally quit.
It has been the case that over the years I had to get at least 6 games from USA friends sent in the other direction so I could play on release date and on the same servers. Its no biggie to do the same with this game.
In front of me is the USA CE for Star Trek Online with the badge you didn't get over here. USA CE for FFXIV seems like it has a mail in that we don't have, maybe distro in USA is less good than in EU? Maybe the tumbler would get broken?

Because you can't use an EU copy of the game with a US SE account.

Can you confirm this anyone?

I have both NA and EU accounts. Originally I signed up in NA for FFXI then changed my address to UK later. The only problem was that the expansions had also to be from NA. Maybe do that in reverse

So why not sign up an account with SE in the EU?

The whole system of regionalised billing systems and game codes being incompatible region-region should have been solved with this game. I hope it is.

I think if you have an EU SE account as well, as long as you use that with your EU CE, you should be reet. But it might be worth double checking.

I hate it when collector's edition for some regions get stuff the ones in others don't. That said, I don't want the tumbler anyway. The Map, however, is something I'd love to have. I love having those maps, have all my Guild Wars maps on the wall behind my monitor from their collector's editions.

And as BSphil said, EU version has to be used with a EU SE account, a NA game with a NA SE account. I can live without them, but it still irks me to have them including in one CE and not the other. Works both ways as the right of passage thing should've been included in the EU CE but it wasn't, personally, it doesn't interest me either even though I'm obviously getting that one.

EU players have always been charged for in subs. When I first signed up to FFXI I was being charged in dollars, which worked out around £8 per month, a year down the line and they suddenly decided to change the way I was charged, so instead of $12 is was £12. The pound was strong against the dollar back then, so it worked I was being charged £4 more per month.

I doubt that's why they're giving us the tumbler and map though, NA version will probably come with something exclusive for that region also, although I like to think the added extras are to go some way as to appologise for the price hike back in FFXI lol

Awww, NA doesn't get the map? That stinks. All we get that EU doesn't is the "certificate" -- who knows what that will be like.

I think it's only fair that we get the mug since SE owe us for releasing FF11 much later in Europe.
