Didn't see this anywhere else on here so sorry if old news, but saw on http://www.ffxivbase.com new jobs from I guess are Goldsmith, Harvester, Armourer, Woodworker, and Fisherman.

I'm looking forward to fishing once again. :D

edit: Didn't see anything on official website but it looks promising to me.

You rock! I'm loving the reassurance of furniture's return. I LOVED the player housing of FFXI.

I read somewhere else that Fencer, Enforcer and Musketeer will also be playable classes along with Arcanist and Mystic.

Data mined from Blue Gartr apparently. Sounds cool.

Woodworker
Crafters who use their Hand Saws to manipulate wood. They have intimate knowledge of the rigidity, sturdiness, weight and value of various kinds of wood. Their craft is used in making furniture and other handy items. Woodworking developed in Limsa Lominsa’s shipyards and in constructing the high-rises of Ishgard. From the creation of gigantic buildings down to small ritual masks, Gridania, in particular, makes good use of its wealth of fine woods.

Wait, what? Does this mean woodworkers will be responsible for building things like LinkShell and Mog housing, or does it mean buildings made for GuildLeves? Whatever the case my interest in crafting just doubled...

I would guess woodworkers will be making furniture for your mog house (or whatever they're calling it now).

They aren't new, actually, but they aren't on the official site either. They were announced on famitsu (or similar magazine) a couple weeks ago. There was a thread about it but considering they were already a given, even if they weren't confirmed, nobody made a big deal about it.

Dun Dun Dun........ Dodoy might be getting banned.....

I actually made a thread last night that mentioned a lot of those. Although, that's a longer list than I ever posted. My info, I found was posted a couple months ago. Apparently people went .dat mining and found most of those. Assassin, stavesman, bard, flayer, sentinel, adventurer, and samurai were not on the list I posted.

I was getting interested in levelling BRD at the end of my FFXI playing. I was wondering what the support jobs were going to be.

I sure hope these are for real. I was thinking the disciples of magic were getting shafted with only paths... that said... there still are not enough magic paths on this list to make me happy - but 4 paths is better than two... now if only we knew what mystics and arcanists can actually do!

So is that part of the beta site? I thought someone said that it was. If we actually get all of those at launch, there will be so many more jobs/classes than XI had. Sounds like fun.

Launching with that many classes? That would really limit their ability to expand later.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few additional classes at launch, especially magic classes, but I'd guess that the bulk of those will be implemented through patches or future expansions, and the .dat files are there for future use.

It's doubtful they are launching with all of these. Lots of developers forget to remove their future or scrapped plans from obscure corners of the game files that determined fans inevitably find. Even if they did start with all of those, though, there's still a few missing key classes found in a lot of FF games like dark knight and summoner along with a few other recurrent classes such as ninja, beastmaster, dancer and blue mage that could be used for future expansions. Plus they could always think of new ones.

I believe that is a list from .dat farming. Much like FFXI had Lv. 5 magic spells from the start they didn't come out until 8 years later. Alot of those jobs won't be out from the start but SE places in the game data for when they do want to release them.

Just a thought not really too sure how they plan on doing this, but I'm sure there are gonna be certain level requirements to equip weapons and armor just like its always been. But suppose a certain weapon requires a mixture of levels. For example: 20THM + 10CON allows equipping Mysticism for MYS, or 20CON + 10THM opens up ability to equip Aroanima for Arcanist. Or 20 Levels in DoM + 10 in DoW allows equipping Dark Arts for ASN.

Or they could just add in future updates and say, "We added Musical instruments into the game, you can now me BRD!"

Personally I'd prefer the prior cuz to me it would feel like I worked my way to gain access to equipping X-weapons for X-class. I guess similar to FFT where after learning certain Abilities and Traits unlocked other Jobs and future paths could be created from that. I think L2 had a similar system for choosing career paths like that as well.

http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/#/world/eorzea/limsalominsa/guilds/coral_tower

If this link does not work, it's on the official site.
World> Eorzea> Limsa Lominsa> The Guilds> Coral Tower

If you look at each of the guilds on these pages, they have an icon corresponding to a job/crafting class already revealed on the website, except the Coral Tower's pistols.

They may not include it at launch, but it would be cool to have more depth to the existing system beyond what's already there.

I want all the city states to show off their guilds - I like the icon for Gridania best... but that is not really the best reason to choose a home city.
