Now that all the classes are revealed whats your combination of choice and origin?

I was thinking of going Gridania, Forester Elezen, Botanist, Carpenter, Archer mix. Just seemed to make sense to me. Give me your ideas on a good mix.

Since this question is asked on a regular basis, I'm thinking of asking the admins to make it a sticky, right along with "What system are you playing on?"

However, since you asked: Seawolf Roegadyn, Fisher/Culinarian/Lancer, Limsa Lominsa, Llymlaen

I want to be a Weaver. REALLY BAD O.O But I also want to be a Marauder. Doesn't seem to make too much sense, but I'm going to do both of those xD If Weaving really compliments Magic Discs as much as I think it will, then I'll pick up one of those as well.

I'll be a Sun Mithra with Weaving/Marauder/Conjurer, and go where ever the Weaving Guild is.

I'm thinking of a duskwight elezen (mostly for looks alone), thamuaturge/fisher/culinarian. I would like to be more focused on crafting this time around, too. I enjoyed harvesting in FFXI, so I'll prolly try botanist at some point early on, which will then lead me to weaving... I have no idea what I'm gonna do!

Oh! But I am planning to start in Limsa Lominsa.

Ul'dah, Dusk Miqo'te, Culinarean for sure. Toss up between Lancer and Archer, and I am also interested in Blacksmith.

Hyur (not sure on clan want to check them out for myself), pugulist, tanner, definitely ul'dah. Probably end up dabbling in everything like I seemed to in FFXI, jack of all trades master of none.

I'm going to get as close as possible to a thieving alchemist. So some pugilist, alchemist, and either some archery or a splash of Thaumaturge. It will depend on how shared skills work.

Race will either be Hyur Midlander, or Lalafell Plainsfolk. Can't decide :)

I plan on trying to play all of the jobs, but will mostly focus on the alchemist thief.

Do you get to choose your city, regardless of race?

I will wait to see how the disciples of the hand fit in to parties. Currently all i can tell is that it will be limited and hard to get anywhere... just like it was before, i seriously hope i am wrong.

Pugilist first since they are just awesome... then maybe once i get somewhere choose blacksmith or miner or something.

I assume in the end if i play enough i will get to try them all. so many decisions who knows what i will fall in love with.

Do you get to choose your city, regardless of race?

Probably, in FFXI you got that bonus ring when you chose the correct city. I think you can choose everything so far.

I think I've plumped for a Lalafell archer but beyond that not sure. Perhaps with culinary and botanist. Normally I go tank class with blacksmith so thought it would be a nice change. Question is do I go for the juxtaposition and get a Roegadyn retainer or a cute Miquo'te?

Gridania Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te. Pugilist. Not sure which crafts I'll do, I got into alchemy in FFXI after watching Fullmetal Alchemist lol.

Gridania Duskwight Elezen Botanist/Lancer.
Hopefully involvement in the game will get me to devote myself to something more involving like armory, smithing, goldsmithing, etc.

I think I've decided on Plainsfolk Lalafell Conjurer/botanist/weaver. I'll most likely start in Gridania, and at some time I'll probably dabble with a little thaumaturge and possibly a DoW job like Gladiator.

That element thing is pretty interesting. I remember reading that it's like a stat that you could level them all up equally and be balanced or go all out on one. Then I wonder if you can reallocate those like other stats or if you're stuck with 'em. Would be cool, but maybe too easy?, if you could change your element balance to get an edge in the upcoming fight. But that's another debate altogether..

I'm looking at Roegadyn Hellsguard starting in Ul'dah. I think I'll mess with Thaumaturge and various crafts first, but really have no set plans for that part of it. Maybe let the environment and what I end up finding/getting into dictate what I become. Oh yeah, and of course, FIRE!

I think I'm gonna be a Plainsfolk Lalafell (god help me have I learned nothing from my Tarutaru BLM?). I wanna be a Conjurer/Pugilist/Weaver....oddly. Really hoping they allow me to reset my stats so I can switch between DD and mage whenever I feel like it without sucking at one or the other (or both).
Q: How many SE employees does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None, it's working as intended.

Still need to wait for more info before i decide. I'm waiting to see if the god you choose, starter city ,element etc. has any real effect on your character.I might decide to pay the extra $3 and make 2 characters. so far its a toss up between a Miqo'te ranger/pugilist,alchemist/botanist OR Roegadyn Marauder/lancer, miner/blacksmith/armorer. Too many things to decide upon...hope more info is released soon.

Ranger/woodworker/botanist. Male highland hyur out of Gridania. That's it! I'm ready! Come on SE, lets get this show on the road! (Sigh!) Living up here in Canada, I usually complain about the summers being too short. This is the first one that seems too long!

I am leaning heavily toward hellsguard roegadyn - thaumaturge/conjurer/lancer/botanist/weaver? I do think I will start with thaumaturge... but since I am starting a couple of weeks later than everyone else, I may change my mind based on what I read during that time. I'd like to start in Gridania if there is no penalty to doing so.

Basically my choices will depend heavily on what I read between September 22 and October 8 or so when I start to play. If for example there is a penalty for choosing the "wrong" city state - I may either change my choice of race or my favoured city (but only between races I'm vacillating between). Ditto if it is excessively hard to level a discipline in one city vs. another.

I may choose to level Conjurer VS Thaumaturge first if it seems advantageous to do so - or switch to leveling up lancer to give some survivability to my character - if that is what it takes. I'm not fully sold on weaver but I am really looking forward to botanist - well I am really hoping it is more fun than gathering generally was in FFXI.
