Wow... what an ordeal to play a freaking video game. Researching parts trying to get the best price. Learning about all the new technologies, BUT it's finally all on the way!

Hurray!!!!

I had to tell someone.

Thanks to everyone that helped with my questions over the last several days.

Now you can join us in waiting until September to actually play :)

Oh, what a long wait it'll be.

Lmao, I was just thinking about that! I think the best post the other day was the recommendation to play Starcraft II while waiting. I should have everything ready a few days before that releases!

I'm still waiting untill September to order the game.
On a more serious note, um, do you think Gamestop will run out of the pre-orders?

That's where I preordered mine and the dude mentioned that it's hard to tell when they cut off so I should hurry up just in case. Went back later that day, but the reasoning was that each store doesn't have a set amount they get. There's an overall limit between the website and stores and once it's reached they get a notice to stop doing preorders. So that was a long way of saying "I really don't know, but it doesn't hurt to go ahead and do it."

Which brings to mind an interesting point: If they were to hit a limit where they know "We will get 50 copies in store and 50 people have preordered", will they actually tell person #51 and on "You can preorder, but your copy won't be in the initial batch?"

Like when I preordered GH:Metallica, I was told "You probably won't get the second kick petal because you waited too long to preorder". From a business standpoint, I could see how upper management could decide that they'd rather not tell people they're out of the product so they keep the money rolling in, but from a customer service standpoint, I really hope that if they hit that wall, they do.

I also wonder if they're going to warn people "Hey, incidentally, if you open this box, you're stuck with it, cause it's a PC game" when they buy them.

A few years ago that happened to the guy right behind me in line when I was preordering a game. I got the last of the first batch of preorders . He was told that he could order it, and if someone ahead of him changed their mind, or didn't pick it up in the first 48 hours, he would get one, etc.

I never understood why someone will wait to preorder a game. If you know that you are going to get it, then **** man preorder the game. That way we don't have to hear you ***** and complain that SE didn't release enough preorders for you to get one. If you want thr game then preorder it now, why wait??

I think a total of 2 people are preordering the game at my local gamestop.

I think they need 50 for a midnight release, I'm not holding my breath. :)

Don't they sometimes serve cake at those midnight releases?

At the last one I went to they had pizza (FFXIII), and since I was like, 40 minutes late and the last guy there they gave me a box to take home.

There was a midnight release for FF13, which I showed up for at 12:10, figuring I didn't want to stand in the cold outside in line.

They were closed. They said that only two people were standing outside at 11:59, so they sold them their games and locked the doors by 12:05. Wouldn't let me in; told me I had to come back when the store opened at its normal time.

They did say, fwiw, that there would be a midnight release of XIV. I'm going to be sure to show up at 11:50 this time. I don't expect a massive line, but I don't want to have to "come back later" because less than half a dozen people showed up and I wasn't one of them.

I think that if you paid for the game already, they will old a copy for you, all the other people that pre-order and didn't pay yet might stay out of it if they do not pick it up in time and the store gives it away to another person.

At least this it the idea I got from what the Gamestop guy said, my husband asked him when they were open and when we could pick it up (cause my husband works until late) and the guy simply told us they work until 8pm and that we shouldn't worry cause we paid for the game, so they will save us 2 copies.

xD I just hope this is true, it will be crazy on the 22nd, last time we pre-ordered a game, it didn't go that well =/
