Firstly, I would like to say Hello. I have been following information about FFXIV since late last year. I discovered ZAM not too long ago and have been visiting the site just about every day trying to see if any new information has been announced.

I never did play FFXI but I have been on the MMO scene for quite some time now. Having played WoW (I am glad to have gotten rid of that. Completely lost interest in it about 8 months ago), Guild Wars, EVE (Hardly got into it). I have been playing FF games since FFVIII (Favourite one).

Anyway I would like to get some thoughts on a computer that I am going to build for FFXIV and other games.

CPU:AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
MOBO:Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 Motherboard
RAM:G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (2x2G) DDR3
PSU:Corsair HX-850 Power Supply
GPU:HIS ATI Radeon HD5870 2GB Eyefinity 6 MW2
HDD:Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX
Case:CoolerMaster CM Storm Sniper Black Edition
Display:Samsung P2350 23 Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

What kind of settings can I expect to play FFXIV on?

Thanks for your time and I look forward to adventuring with you in Erozea.

Y'know, there is an ENTIRE sticky at the top of the forum (where the stickies live) that answers questions just like this one.

But fine: Something like that will probably benchmark at or above 4.8-5k good, not amazing. You'll be able to play the game, and it'll be pretty. Will you be able to see the 75 frames of animation on each individual blade of grass? no. Do you care? probably not.

Sorry, I didn't even see that. Please feel free to move it or do what ever the mods do to redundant posts.

4.8-5k sounds great. It is a massive improvement over my current computer. It is exactly what I am after. My current computer gave me a score of ~200-250. My laptop gave a score of ~125-150. Being able to play the game sounds great.
