I'm going to play a Miqo'te this time around because I prefer their animations and emotes for every class more so than any other race.

Gridania will be my starting city because it seems the most reminiscent of Windust with nice and peaceful surrounding areas.

I'll play a Lalafell Pugilist with a DoH to repair its weapons.
I'll choose Ul'dah because despite not having much information about it, a trading city appeals to me ^^

Going Miqo'te this time around as well, not sure what class atm, but leaning towards Glad since I enjoy tanking. As for starting city? I like the look of Limsa since I have a preference to true port cities in games.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

My first character would be a hyur in Limsa Lomisa being a full-time blacksmith. Being a support character was always alluring to me because it's not something too flashy like a main role like a tank or healer, but still is something essential to a good group. Plus, making a bit of coin isn't so bad itself.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Undecided between Midland Hyur and Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te, but will be Thaumaturge for sure. As for nation-state, Gridania.

Why? Well I just like those 2 races, and Thaumaturge brings me back to my origins, since I started as a mage in MMOs to turn into a melee only later on, but spellcasting is where my heart's at. Finally, Gridania's concept art is just too beautiful to pick any other nation-state, imho of course.

My first character

Class : Conjurer

Race : Lalafell

Starting City: Limsa Lominsa

My race was chosen because I have hopes of capturing that bond that I had with my FFXI character. Just looking at a lalafell gives me a sense of that same feeling. Conjurer will be the class because I'm a magic type of guy and it looks like a very versatile class. Also I played as a blm in FFXI, and it will be fun playing with nukes again. Limsa Lominsa is the city because its a beautiful city. Also its surrounded by grassy areas which makes the city look even more wonderful. I look forward to talking to each and every npc that lives in Limsa Lominsa as well.

What class/race are you going to play in Final Fantasy XIV?

Well theres no doubt in my mind am going to be a Roegadyn hellsguard =), Just because i loved the galkas so much =) and ill be picking up pugilist as my main cant beat smaking something around with your fists =),

Which is the starting city of your choice???

Ill probaly pick Gridania as my starting state as it looks more centralised on the map so should have nice easy access to other parts without being to far away =) but that can all change once i see the game for myself ^^

I would like to use my years of gaming knowledge to give constructive critism something every developing game needs =), and also to just get to do my thing and find some bugs/glitchs :P

P.S Ohhh and i wanna test out my new rig on it see how it handles =) 3x5870's FTW! soon to be 4 lol

My first character will either be an Duskwight Elezen Pugilist or Archer. Haven't totally decided, was hoping to use the beta to help me choose. =P Pugilist looks like a lot of fun though with the different stances, so that would be my main choice if I had to choose. And I will be starting in Limsa Lominsa because of the fishing guild. My dad always took me fishing when I was little and I enjoyed it, so I hope to carry on the tradion, in virtual form.

Thaumaturge Lalafell (male) and Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te. As for nation-state, Gridania.

Why?
Lafafell because they remind me of my old adventures with my FFXI taru. Thaumaturge because I have always started past mmos as a caster archetype. Gridania for the many reasons but the biggest factor is because of the visuals of the concept art. As gameplay takes priority over all things in mmos, visual graphics play a big part of the overall experience of any game.

I will start as a a Wildwood Elezen because I like the confident way they carry themselves in or outside of battle.
My first class will be Pugilist as I've always been fond of the hand-to-hand types.
My beginning nation will be Gridania as I think it will compliment the race of my character and hopefully the layout won't be as long as Limsa Lominsa.

I'd go with Elezen archer, RNG became my main class on my Elvaan while on XI. Would love to see what they changed in the class.

And I'd probably start in Gridania, something about the forest makes them nice starting areas.

I'll be playing a Wildwood Elezen pugilist from Ul'Dah most likely.
I'll be going with Ul'Dah simply because I was a Bastokan in FFXI, and it seems like the equivalent in FFXIV. My reasons for choosing an Elezen is even more simple; I like the hair styles....
Finally, pugilist will be my main discipline because I enjoy the comedic effect of punching monsters to their untimely demise.

After drastically waiting and dreaming for some way to enter the beta, I have had lot's of time to think about where and what I want to be when FFXIV comes out.

I absolutely adored being a mithra in ffxi, so I will be their closely resembled friends in Miqo'te, Because nothing beats watching those star struck eyes of the Hyur, when seeing my magnificently cute tail *chuuu*

For my starting nation, I am definitely going to be started at Ul'dah.

Ul'dah has a very strong and rich environment, with fantastic looking scenery and a very willful location which will strike the fears of anybody that passes.

As Miqo'te, I want to be strong but very resourceful, so I prefer a location that can bring the same attributes.

Thank you for reading

Miqo'te Keepers of the Moon Marauder with some offensive spells, like a DRK, and I'll be starting in Limsa-Lominsa.
Why?
'cause Miqo'te's are **** and I liked the DRK in FFXI, and I dont wanna go just the 1 class, I want to mix it up.

My homebase is gonna be Gridania because it look so nice and natury. I really like to live of the land and farm in FFXI and nuke some monsterbutt while at it. So in 14 hoping to explore the options in Beta.

Want to be a Lalafell and start in Ul'dah. In FFXI I was a Hume, after a year of play I wanted to be a taru so badly, I was taru on the inside, but I never wanted to redo everything I accomplished, this time around I am not making that mistake of being a normal human, Lalafell all the way, This way it is expected to be fun, upbeat, and cute.

First of all thanks alot for this

Class would definitely be a healer
Race a Lalafell
Starting city Gridania

Well, it's the most (in my eyes) fantasy like race in all of the other races, they are small in body but mighty in actions lol...and they have both genders. There is something I can't put in words about them, but they are certainly a rare fantasy in a fantasy world.

Race: Lalafell

Class: Fisherman

Starting City: Limsa Lominsa

I absolutely loved fishing in FFXI and spent forever to obtain my Ebisu Rod. Am hoping for the same type of relaxing challenge in FFXIV. I'm sure i will play most classes but being a fisherman will be the first thing i do.

1) What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in?
Most likely a Female Hyur Miner, in the city of UL'DAH.

2) Why?
Female Hyur because of a decade long challenge. <--- Almost (-_-lll
Miner this time round because I'm because I decided to play a pacifist role this time round. Was a Mnk in FFXI.
UL'DAH? Well, I guess I should become a Goldsmith this time round.

I will be a either a lancer or pugilist lalafell from Gridania. Why? Well I was a hume in FFXI :( and the tarutaru dance got me everytime, so this time I'll be the one doing the dancing!. The reason behind Gridania is just from the concept art and things I've heard it will be a fun area to explore for me in the start of the game.

I think my first character in Final Fantasy XIV Online will be a Wildwood Elezen whom is a Pugilist. I played as a Tarutaru for half a decade in Final Fantasy XI Online and didn't feel it really related to me all that much. Wildwood Elezen's relate to me more in real life, being tall and more in touch with movement. I also wanted to try out a job class that uses brute force with their fists like a Pugilist.

The first city I would like to start out in would be Gridania. I've always liked places in game that were closely tied with nature, and as such that would make a perfect in game home for myself. Being able to see a city where the elements come into play is much more suited for me than Limsa Lominsa or Ul'dah.

I plan on being a Highlander Hyur Pugilist from the nation-state of Gridania.

My reasons for playing one is largely due to the fact that I have always regretted the decision to play as an Elvaan in FFXI. By the time I realized that, it was already too late for me to remake my character due to how difficult it was back then to get missions and limit breaks completed. As it is, I am greatly looking forward to the opportunity to restart in a new setting.

In addition this time around I would like to play a character similar to my own real life physical build. While I am not as muscular as a Highlander, I do have a similar frame which is mainly what I am looking for. Also I get the feeling that there won't be too many Highlanders around, which is good since there can be only one!....okay horrible (and overplayed) joke but I couldn't resist.

As far as nation-state choice goes I enjoy wooded/forest areas the most out of all the different types of landscapes and Gridania certainly meets that criteria.

My first character will be a Lalafell named Kakas Tydrokor, and I will be starting in Limsa Lominsa. I really like the theme there, and my FFXI character was a Tarutaru. My name is a combination of a shortened version of my FFXI name and my WoW name.

First character will be a Miqo’te Thaumaturge starting in Gridania. This might change if they add more classes. In FFXI I played a Taru Taru so decided this time around to play as Miqo'te and I love caster classes. Gridania strikes my fancy as it sounds like it is goign to be a beautiful City.

My first character will be a male Midland Hyur. Throughout all these years playing MMOs, I've always started each game by playing humans, or their closest relatives, then branching out to other races. My preferred class right now is the Conjurer, as I always begin my MMO characters as casters of one sort or another. I like the fact that the Midlanders are an educated people, and it seems to coincide with the nature of the Conjurers, as the developers define it. Gridania doesn't only attract me because of its look and lore, but also it seems to be the site of the Conjurers' Guild. My main was a Windurstian Hume RDM in FFXI and this character will begin similarly, for good old times' sake.

So, in short, my first character will be created as follows:

Race: Hyur
Clan: Midlander
Discipline: Magic
Class: Conjurer

Alliance: Gridania

My first character will be a Male Hyur Midlander "Pick a class, any class" and my starting nation-state will be Ul'dah.

2) Why?
I was a Hume to start with in FFXI, and I changed to Elvaan when I thought starting stats mattered, but I regretted it 5 years later till this day, so I won't make the same mistake twice.

I plan on leveling all the classes along side a buddy of mine. I know I'll play them all.

I'm starting in Ul'dah since there really wasn't a large desert based city in FFXI and I think it's time for a change of scenery. Plus, if it's anything like the Architecture of the first city in FFXII, I'll be more than happy.

Race: Plainsfolk Lalafell
Class: Conjurer
City: Gridania

Why: Ive always played a black mage, caster type in every MMO ive played, and I was a Taru in FFXI and always enjoyed it, the description of the plainsfolk also intrigues me, something about the intricate underground passageways.^^ As for the city, Gridania reminds me of Windy which was my favorite city/favorite music of XI as well.

What class are you going to play in Final Fantasy XIV? Conjurer
What race are you going to play in Final Fantasy XIV? Midland Hyur
Which is the starting city of your choice? Gridania

When I played FFXI I began my experience as a Taru Taru Black Mage, as I have always like mage classes and Taru Taru's seemed like the most capable mage. I ultimately ended up as a summoner, my favorite class. After about 6 months my friends started to play and I decided to remake my character since Taru Taru's were too squishy and not manly enough haha. Thus I became a Hume summoner. Thus I will be a Midland Hyur Conjurer until summoner is released haha.

My plan is to play a Dunesfolk Lalafell Pugalist hailing from the great city-state of Gridania. My FFXI main was a mithra but I always loved the taru's so that will be my main this time around. I was also a faithful Windurstian and Gridania has that feel to it.

Right now I plan to make a Dunesfolk Lalafell in Gridania. Lalafell because I loved my Taru in XI and just can't see myself enjoying the game on the races as much as the little folk. Dunesfolk because......well, I don't know exactly, it was more appealing to me then Plainsfolk was. I chose Grandia because I plan to be a conjuror and if I remember correctly, that's where the guild is.

What will my first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will I start in and why?

My first character will be a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te Pugilist starting off in Gridania.

Main reason for my choices, is that I've always liked the cute cat-like appearances of the Mithra/Miqo'te and the character that I used to play in FFXI was a mithra, so I want to make it look similar or upgraded from that original.
I want to choose Gridania because it looks a lot like a Windurst clone, plus because everyone has played in Limsa Lominsa during the beta, its probably gonna be the most crowded place when the game starts.

A Wildwood Elezen Gladiator/Conjurer/pretty much everything starting in Gridania.

Why?

Two reasons: The Red Mage was my favorite class in FFXI, and i want to be able to have a lot of combat options; and because the game has so much to offer, and how could I pass that up? Seriously, how could I not try everything? As for the city state...I can't say that's where I'll end up, but for not, that's what I picked out of the hat.

I plan to be a Marauder with strong blacksmithing skills, so i can keep my axe in perfect shape at all times, whilst assisting others with their repairs. Im beginning in Ul'dah because a huge city in the middle of a scorching desert appeals to my image of the Hellsguard.
