I intend to play a Miqu'ote archer starting in Limsa Lominsa.

Archers are cool, especially archers that happen to be cats. The name Limsa Lominsa reminds me of Tingle from Zelda.

The first character that i will play is a Keepers of The Moon Miqo'te Pugilist because i love the Miqo'te race the most and i think im going to like the pugilist class the best.

The nation-state that i will start out in is Gridania, i choose this place because i love the idea of being in a woodland area and also because the way it is described on the FFXIV website it seems like it would be a beautiful city.

My first character in Eorzea will be a Leathercrafting Moon Miqo'te from Gridania. I believe this is where a leathercrafting guild will be located and I look forward to skinning poor defenseless rabbits and sheep in the woods.

Hyur, Gridania.

I want to be Hyur because that's what I've been for very long time in another life call Vana'diel.

Gridania reminds me soo much of my dear old Windurst, I am loyal and will continue my roots and that's final.
I am looking forward to participating in this beta!

1. My character will definitely be a Lalafell Plainsfolk male Conjurer.

2. Gridania will be the first nation I start at.

3. I was a tarutaru in FFXI, and I like the design in FFXIV. As for the nation, it seems to fit Lalafell very well. On top of which, I love mage jobs and it seems to be a very mage-oriented place.

My character will be a Sun Seeker Miqo'te Archer, starting in Gridania.

This is because the Miqo'te are a fairly unique looking race as far as most MMOs go, with some really great looking animation and nice lore for role playing! I'll be starting as an archer because the bow animations look great (bows actually have string on them!) and I think it'll be a rewarding class if played well. I don't know much about Gridania, but a mystical foresty place seems exactly the right home for a Sun Seeker Miqo'te.

I will choose a Hyur male, Thaumaturge/Carpenter. I will start in Gridania. Reasons being;

I'll be taking Carpentry to support a friend who is playing archer, who is supplying me with botany in kind. Gridania is my city of choice for being central for Carpentry, and I've chosen Thaumaturge as my combat class as it appeals to me most in terms of skills revealed so far.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

My first characte will be a Hellsgaurd Roegadyn. He will be a Marauder, but will also work on Blacksmithing and Mining. I will also try out some other classes including mage classes, I wasn't a fan of mages, but after looking up loads of info on the mage classes.
I will be starting in Ul'dah, I love the desert scene that I have heard so much about and I think the fortress looks amazing.

Why do I want to be a Roegadyn in Ul'dah? Well I sort of liked the Galka in FFXI, but he was to hairy and looked like something from the Beauty and the Beast >.< This Galka like character is more human like and looks huge. He seems to fit well for a Marauder after looking at some of the images on the site. I also chose Ul'dah because of the desert scene and fortress O.o

I plan on making a Miqo'te conjurer and start off in Gridania- I like that the city state is ran by oracles who revere the forest's elementals- and id like to be a master of elements:) and the city reminds me of windhurst- loved the music there:D I want to play a Miqo'te because cats are one of my favorite animals and I loved mithras from ffxi:)

I'll be a Lalafell Pugilist who will be starting in Ul'dah.

Why?
I miss playing my Tarutaru Ninja a lot, the best little tank that could.
Plus, I think Pugilist mixes the classes I really enjoyed playing; Thief, Monk and Ninja.
I also miss my old all Tarutaru LinkShell (TaruNation) in Bahamut.
We had the best adventures ever and got to meet lifelong friends too in the process.

At first, I wanted to start in Gridania because it seemed similar to Windhurst but when I read about the gambling and fighting arenas in Ul'dah, I know where my Lalafell will be spending most of his days; gambling, fighting and getting drunk.

Will be starting as a goldsmith Miqo'te in Ul'Dah unless goldsmith guild is in a differant nation. Miqo'te since my FFXI character was a Mithra and got my goldsmith on her pretty high and was able to get the awesome glasses and hoping to do the same here. Desert type areas have always appealed to me beauty wise and also from the description it sounds as if the goldsmith guild will be located there. That and the fond memories of the Dunes.
Here's hoping for a beta spot

I plan to make a Sea Wolf Roegadyn Marauder in Limsa Lominsa. I made that choice because I played a Galka Warrior from Bastok in FFXI and I want to continue with a similar character in FFXIV.

My first character in Eorzea will be a Male Roegadyn. I will start as a Conjurer and some crafting classes. This is because I love playing mage classes in MMOs and would love to see on how FFXIV implements it :). I'll be choosing Uldah because the theme and feel appeals to me.

I can't wait to create my Miqo'te -Keeper of the Moon tribe- character to explore Eorza this september ! I played a Mithra for many years in FFXI so for me it's only natural to choose this race again. I shall choose Gridania as my starting city since I love forest areas and it is also a city where I will be able to learn alchemy. Also, my fighting class will most likely be Lancer.

My first character will be a Male Lalafell Plainsfolk Conjurer from Ul'Dah. I will play a Lalafell because of my love of my Tarutaru in FFXI. My assumption at this point is that their base stats will lean towards magic users, which is my preference to play, so it makes sense to choose a Lalafell. I will start my new character in Ul'Dah because because of its abundance of resources as well as it being a clothcrafting hub, as I plan to pursue a career in clothcraft.

I will play an Elzen Shader Pugilist. I will start in Limsa-Lomsa.
Reasons being in FFXI I p[layed an Elvaan and want the closest possible race, I'm chosing to be shader because I prefer how they look to the traditional wood elf appearence. LL as my starting city because it seems to have that big , expansive feel of my old home town San D'Oria.

1) What will your first character in Eorzea be, Why?
Sea Wolf Roegadyn Pugilist will be my first character without any doubt. In FFXI my first and main character was a Galka Monk and this seems to be the closest I can get to him. Overall, I like the look of the Roegadyn to the Galka and the Pugilist seems similar enough to the Monk to make me happy.

2) What nation-state will you start in? Why?
Gridania is my absolute choice for loyalty. They seem to embody everything I want for my Pugilist. The same reasons why I had Windurst for my Galka Monk in FFXI. Balance and Nature over the thirst for power.

My first character in Eorzea will be an Elezen Male that will be taking the Gladiator approach. He will be starting in Ul'dah because of it's history, as well as fighting halls and gambling, of course! Lastly, because you can see this city for miles, it must be very huge, and enjoyable!

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

I'll be playing a Male Midlander Hyur, mostly as Gladiator, but probably also a little as Thaumaturge and Culinarian (mmm, foooood). The combat classes look like they're a little more dynamic now that the combat system in FFXIV is more active. I'll bestarting in Gridania, I love the concept drawings I've seen of the forest city. I was very fond of Windurst in FFXI because of its aesthetics, not so much because of its races, and I'm looking to find a little bit of the same

Why would I like to be in the beta:

I've been playing Final Fantasy XI for as long as it's been out in North America. My experience with it has been that it is very difficult for anyone to get anywhere without playing for several hours at a time. I have lots of small periods of time at my disposal, but rarely long stretches. Final Fantasy XIV looks to solve this problem by allowing solo play, small parties, and small play periods to lead to a rich and enjoyable experience. This of course hightens my anticipation for this title. I would like to be a part of the beta test to ensure that this aspect of the game is refined to its best, as I'm sure many of the other testers are really hardcore players looking for massive party experiences, and my addition to the team would provide a different kind of playtesting. It's obvious that the pleasure of getting a sneak peak of the game plays an important part in my desire to participate in the beta, but let's be honest, who here actually isn't excited about FFXIV? I have a solid experience with the game's predecessor, and I've taken part in several other Beta tests in the past (I'm also part of Sony's official beta testers and get roughly bi-monthly invitations to various betas on PS3), so I know the drill. I'm currently residing in Belgium but I come from Montreal (I have a North American Square Enix account. My copy of FFXI is NA), and I'm perfectly fluent in both English and French. My contribution could also serve to test the French localization of the game, and test in odd hours.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

I will be playing a midland hyur Pugilist named Pat Ceravic. I will be from the city-state Gridania. I will be playing as a Hyur because I really liked the look of my FFXI character that was a hume and always try to make any MMO character of mine look like him. I will be playing as a Pugilist because it seems to have a neat balance of monk, thief, and ninja skills. It also seems to have some self healing things so it will make it very diverse as a DD, tank, and soloist. I will be making my character's hometown Gridania because I like lush forests. I started in Windurst in FFXI and while Windurst had a lot of trees in it, Sarutabaruta was a grassland which was odd. I'm looking forward to seeing how nice the forests look and how neat the starting area is there.

My first character will be a Midland Hyur Fisherman, and I will be starting in Limsa Lominsa. I chose the Hyur mainly because I was a Hume in FFXI, and I tend to play the most human race I can in role-playing games.

As for the choice of Limsa Lominsa, I love marine settings (both in games and real life). I loved the experiences of taking ships from place to place in FFXI, including the occasional battle on board. Also, I play to fish in FFXIV, so naturally Limsa Lominsa would be the city to do that in.

My first character will be a Miqo'te Conjurer starting in Gridania.
I have picked the Miqo'te as they look so cute and cat like with their expressions.
I will be playing a Conjurer as I mainly play as a healer, and would like to explore the opportunity to be both heals and dmg dealer simultaneously.
I want to start in Gridania, and it looks beautiful in the screens I have seen so far, with the overall personality of the city more to my liking then the other two.

Thanks for this opportunity to win a key :)

First character will be an Elezen (Wildwood) Archer. As a retired long time FFXI player, Ranger was always my favorite class and I'm excited to see what happens this time around. As for my starting city, I would have to say Limsa. The area looks absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see the beaches. Also, for the crabs.
