What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in?
A Conjurer Miqo'te Seeker of The Sun of Ul'dah.

Why?
Pretty much a straight forward reason - I have fascination for cat (all feline family... from lions to house cat), magic, and the sun (not just our sun but other stars in the universe). As for the nation, I'm looking for a place similar to Bastok. In Final Fantasy XI Bastok is the first and only nation I choose. I had so much fond memories there and I hope I can have the same experience in Ul'dah.

My first character will be a Miqo'te Archer starting in Gridania because it reminds me of Windurst from Final Fantasy XI, my favorite city.

I will start my character in Lisma Laminsa. The reason why I will start there is because I played two characters in Sandoria got both of them two rank 10 and never changed alliance. Lisma Laminsa reminds of my Sandoria. I will play a Plainsfolk Lalafell as a Disciples of Magic Conjurer, in respect to my 75 RDM, BLM, WHM, SMN, and BRD Tarutaru. I would take up Botanist to help get materials/fund my Carpenter to make furniture and other items for me and my fellow Linkshell members.

My first character will be a Plainsfolk Lalafell. I will likely be a gladiator. I loved tarutarus in FFXI and cant see myself picking anything else.

I will start in the Deser Fortress of Ul'dah. Limsa Lominsa looks too much like Jueno for me, and ive never dug the forest scene. A Giant desert fotress sounds amazing.

My Character will be a Lalafell because they are very reminiscent of the Tarutaru, and I was a Hume in FFXI and was sad later on in the game because I realized how cool the Taru were, and how awesome they looked in the end-game armor

Also my starting City will be Limsa Lominsa because in FFXI(and almost every other MMO I played) I LOVED to fish as my profession, that and this city looks really REALLY awesome :D.

My first character will be a Wildwood Elezen Archer. I've been really drawn to the Wildwood Elezen race ever since they where first revealed and I just like the overall look of them. I'm choosing the archer class because it's always been my starting class in pretty much every MMO I've played and is my favorite class :)

I'll start in Gridania for my first character. Again, like the Wildwood Elezen, I'm really drawn to the overall look of Gridania. This is mainly because I love the look of cities and towns that are located in forests where the building are surrounded by or are located among the trees. So it's a perfect starting place for me.

I plan to start in Gridania cause I always liked Windy in all my years playing FFXI and maybe I'll feel at home there.

I will be a Miqo'te for sure. I was a Mithra in FFXI and it was a blast. Archer looks pretty fun but I think I will try my hand at tanking. I'm definitely going to make Gridania my home town, it looks very mysterious and secluded and I like that.

I'd be an Elezen thurmaturge, hailing from Gridania. I've liked the forested regions around Sandy, and I think it'd be a great place to start exploring from.

Race: Wildwood Elezen
Home City: Gridania

I chose these because I loved monk in FFXI and the Elezen is a good race for pugilist. As far Gridania goes, I love the look of it. CANT WAIT!!!

All through XI I was a female hume from Windurst. In FFXIV, I will be a male Lalafell from Gridania. I'll get a new point of view from the (low) stature of a Lalafell, but still retain a little feeling of nostalgia for XI by living in the green swathed woods of the forest capital. :)

Lalafell, Limsa Lominsa, the small lalafells have always been a favorite because of size and even though race doesn't seem to be a deciding factor in stats as it did in ffxi they will always look like magic types. The city of limsa lominsa has a unique structure embodied by water from the art released by SE makes it different.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

My first character might be a Miqo'te but I'll likely go with a male Hyur instead. A reincarnation of my Hume male from FFXI but in Ezorea instead. Healer/magic oriented like before and if they introduce anything similar to Summoner you can be certain that'll be on my list. A fisherman too. Gridania is gonna be my starter's home, it looks so much like Windurst in comparison just more forested and lush. Depending on how the native races work out for each nation/city it could very well be a nice piece for roleplay too. A Hyur living in a land not native to his own. Anyway I'm rambling here but I gotta do more research on Ezorea. FFXIV has been on the brain non-stop as I count the days before it finally ships.

By the way, thanks ZAM for giving those who didn't get into Beta another chance!

I am going to start in Ul'Dah as a Roegadyn Gladiatior.

I'm gonna do this because I love tanking and being a huge character was always fun to me an I really felt like a guardian protecting all the little mages. The city is know for its fighting arenas and gambling. Thats what gladiators are meant to do so it just fits perfectly.

Character: Miqo'te pugilist

Nation State: Limsa Lominsa

Reason: Where it's placed on the map.. (there's a big volcanic island close by) plus judging by how small it is on the map compared to the other nation states, you'll obviously be able to travel by boat to the bigger continents anyway, so it seems like it'd be the most fun to explore. :) Plus i'm sure the sea water views will be spectacular!

I will most likely start of as a Male Lalafell Archer with the starting city of Gridania.

In XI I was a Hume from Sandy, but this time around I'm chosing to be a lil Lalafell. My two jobs from XI were PLD and RNG. I ended likeing RNG so much more than tanking, so being an archer is a no brainer. I would love to be in the Beta to see how well my system will run the game and I also wanna get a feel for the new world.

Mainly going to be playing Gladiator, but will likely alternate with Thaumaturge via Armoury system. My race will be Hyur for sure, while roleplaying is great and all, I'd still like my player character to somewhat represent myself.

My starting nation/city state will be Limsa Lominsa. It definitely seems to be the most aesthetically pleasing starting city. I'm going to enjoy the view of the water and greenery.

My first character will be a Lalafell Conjurer starting in Limsa Lominsa.

In final fantasy xi, I enjoyed playing a tarutaru mage and feel that playing a lalafell mage will be just as awesome. Limsa Lominsa gives the same feel as Windrust so that was an easy choice. Additionally, it gives the feel of a mage type city which is a good fit for a lalafell conjurer.

I'll likely be a Hyur Archer that starts out in Limsa Lomisa. Why? I've always had a love for archer classes, and the Hyur, while human in essence, are my favourite of the bunch. I wish to start in Limsa because the city seems interesting! Mostly, I'm just excited to try something new. :)

My first character in Eorzea will be a Midland Hyur Gladiator because tanking has always appealed to me. Being able to step in protect another is always something that has interested me.
My nation state will be Limsa Lominsa because port cities and areas always have some real characters milling about. They bring stories and games to life. And because i love the water.

My first character will be a male Hyur, because it is the way i want people to think of me :) hopefully i can customize it enough to make it resemble me

I will start in gridania because i like forest environments in general, limsa lominsa looks a bit empty and judging from FFXI, ul'dah will be even more of a desert.

also for its resemblance to windurst i like to see it as the home of lalafell and miquotes which i particularly like.

also as a job there are a lot of fighter types i want to try out, but i think i ll start with either sheperd, being very curious to see how we can interact with whatever creatures, or culinarian, to see how far i maximize stats with the cooking.

1. My first character will be an Elezen Gladiator. (I hope it will be less of a sink on a party than the pally I played on in FFXI.)
2. My starting city will probably be Limsa Lominsa.

As for why: I have always liked the elf type character ever since I read about them in the DragonLance books, in particular the Silvanesti. I like the Gladiator character because that's the type of play style I have. I love being face to face with an opponent taking whatever they can dish out and throwing right back in their face. Like in Bad Company 2, I'm always rushing to the front lines and engaging the enemy I hate sitting in the back sniping. And I'm choosing Limsa Lominsa because it's the only one I know anything about.

The first character that I'm going to play is a Midland Hyur, primarily playing the role of a Conjurer, and starting off in the lush greenlands of Gridania. The why is that I've always played a magic user, healer specifically, and from all the screenshots that I've seen Gridania looks the best.

First character will a Roegadyn Sea Wolf Pugilist from Limsa Lominsa.

-Roegadyn because i loved playing galka in ffxi but hated there ridiculously short legs...but guess what THEY DON"T HAVE RIDICULOUSLY SHORT LEGS ANYMORE!!!!
-Sea Wolf cause they look closest to galkas.
-Pugilist because i loved playing a galka monk(big fists), but the weapon skills that had kicks made the skills look funny rather than cool... but problems solved lol.
-Limsa Lominsa because it fits with Sea Wolves, but mostly because ive always liked "Port" Towns in mmos and Limsa Lominsa just looks gorgeous from the concept art and screenshots ive seen.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

My first character will be a Midland Hyur culinarian! Haha, ok... it's probably unrealistic to start off as a crafting class, but it would be fun. Otherwise, I think I would like to play Gladiator. My starting city-state would be Gridania.

In FFXI, my main character was a Hume PLD and I grew really attached to that character and I would like to be able to play something similar again. I'm also very interested in what they will be doing with the crafting-type classes since they appear to be more than just crafts. I love cooking in real life, so I thought being a cook in game would be fun. :)

As for the city-state... I started off in San d'oria when I played FFXI because of a friend, but I always loved Windurst. Gridania has similar qualities to Windurst and it would be really nice to start off in a beautiful, lush landscape opposed to the city. :)

I will pick a male Hyur Conjurer. Probably Midlander until I see the highlander's emotes and animations. I'd like to play a Conjurer to start with but will experiment with all classes. And I will most likely choose Gridania, because a forest setting is the most appealing starting zone for me. Ul'dah could be interesting but I need more information before I choose.

Dunesfolk Lalafell, an orphan scavenger. He's a monk who mines and fishes for money to get by and survive. He lives in UL'DAH because he's grown up there solo since he was a babe.

He makes money every weekend at the casinos, but wastes his winnings at the taverns and buying evening delights.

He often walks out in the wilderness to hunt for food and set up camp for the night. However, every now and you can find him sleeping in an alley beside a restaurant, scrummaging through leftovers in the trash.

He wants to be more than he is, which is why he's begun working hard to get stronger, make an honest wage, and improve in his trades.

While doing this, however, he maintains a second identity; he will find himself teaming up with many adventurers who, in the past, treated him like the vulture he was. His new identity gives him a second chance at an honest life. Hopefully it turns out well for our young Dunesfolk Lalafell.

I've been planning on making a KotM Miqo'te starting in Ul'dah, to mirror my Bastokan Mithra. I like the general barrenness of desert areas, since they always seem to include obligatory ancient ruins, and I'm hoping Ul'dah resembles something like a busy Arabian marketplace. As for class, Culinarean is my ultimate goal!
