What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

My first character in Eorzea will be a Wildwood Elezen, mainly do to the fact that my character in FFXI was a Elvaan. MY name in FFXI was Draucant and thats what it will be in FFXIV, but still figuring out a last name. I will most likely start out as a Marauder and start in Limsa Lominsa which reminds me the most of San d'Oria.

What will be my first character?
A Midlander Male Hyur Conjurer, as plain as it may seem. Combat casting is in my blood for fantasy RPGs, and a self-symbolic character is always my first preference for stepping into an exciting new fantasy world - makes me feel more immersed and involved for some reason. I look forward to a class similar to Red Mage in the future (sword & sorcery mix), but it will still be second to Conjurer.

Starting Nation-State?
Gridania - Done. I could spend hours in a forest simply enjoying what it is, real or digital. What better place to relax when you aren't in the throes of battle, than among the elements you wield in their natural state? From the screens I've seen, it looks amazing too... Can't wait to simply wander through it.

Race: Wildwood Elezen
Disciple of War - Gladiator
why? -
The idea of being a "tank", the first line of defense between myself and my comrades, has always called to me. It seems as though gladiator will be the staple "tank" in XIV, with some abilities taken from Marauder and pugilist perhaps. Sword and board, all the way!

Nation-state: Ul’dah
why? -
I love the desert atmosphere, and it seems as though Ul'dah will be the center for trade. Not to mention, Gambling!!

I will be a Elezen conjurer because I like the look of elf-type characters and I like being a healer.

My starting city will be Limsa Lominsa because I love the design of the city on the water and the surrounding area reminds me of La Thiene Plateau...a place I enjoyed in FFXI.

My first character in FFXIV will be a Hyur Midlander and fisherman of Limsa Lominsa. Wearing his trademark straw hat atop his head and perfectly tuned banjo across his back, he searches the waters of the world looking for the catch, telling stories of his travels to all those that listen and challenging all those that don't.

Final Fantasy XI eventually felt like a job; shepherding people around, running the same events day after day. Fishing is relaxing and gives you a reason to travel the world that isn't about finding a quest point or monster to kill.

As for race gonna have to go with Elezen only for the fact that the chicks dig the pointy ears ;)
As for class gonna have to stick with my basics and go with Archer. Nothing says pure death as hitting someone really ridiculously hard before they even get close :D (Most likely gonna be forced to switch due to the fact my friend wants a personal healer and he was mine last time :'(
As for Nation-State gonna have to stick with Ul'Dah nothing says pure fun as a fighting arena with friends and people you barely know. Gotta love making people cry over the internet yes I love me some pvp always have always will.

My first character will be a Hellsguard Roegadyn either Gladiator or Marauder, I've always gravitated towards the main tank role. I'll most likely be starting in Ul'Dah because I have always loved the art and texture's of desert environments.

Q: What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

A: A Wildwood Elezen Gladiator starting in Gridania. I've always like the looks and mythology of Elves, and Elezen seem to have a very interesting story behind them. I also really liked all the armor that Gladiators ware and the up close and personal play style. Gridania seems like the natural place for an Elezen to start, and the most mysterious and exciting place to go adventure in.

I am going to be a Hellsguard Roegadyn Gladiator stationed in Ul'Dah.
In FFXI I was a hume Paladin and White Mage and wanted a similar experience as a tank or protector but with a different race.
I've always enjoyed beta testing games especially MMOs and normally able to post problems with the game and help others with problems with my knowledge in computers and networking. Then the chance to play on a game that I have been looking forward to for over a year now a couple months early is always great.

I think my first, and probably only character with the way the characters allowed is setup will be a Sea Wolf Roegadyn. I like the bigger race because its more physically intimidating and I tend to play the right up in your face smacking you in the face type of jobs. I noticed that they put cultural emphasis on competition and I'm a very competitive person by nature so it seems like a good fit. I chose a Sea Wolf honestly cause I like the idea of being a pirate or a sailor in general.

I will probably choose Marauder as my first choice as my job and try different things but that will probably be my main focus. I like wielding a huge axe and smashing people into pieces with it, I think it would be great fun. I'm sure I'll check out some of the crafting and harvesting jobs at some point too just to see what there like. I think I would try to get a good feel for a little bit of everything but like I said mostly focus on the Marauder axe smashing good times.

"Everyone here is after something-fame, notoriety, power, money. Me? I'll have the whole bloody lot"

-self-made Lalafell and former Syndicate Member, Cicidoa Sosodoa

This quote right here is what had me very interested in choosing Ul'dah as my starting zone. The fact that they have fighting arenas and gambling halls as well makes me feel right at home there. I like what I hear about the Syndicate and think that good quests and fun storyline could develop from the environment and the lore around the city. Everything about Ul'dah has me excited to start and play there. Although Limsa-Lominsa might seem more at home for a Sea Wolf due to the seas being around. Everything about Ul'dah sounds too perfect.

This is my ideal starting character and starting state for FFXIV. From all the looking into it I've done this combination sounds like the most fun and the right for me and my play style. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and also for putting on this giveaway. Cheers!

My first character is going to be a Duskwight Elezen Pugilist. Elezen because I like the look and body types that are bigger than Hyur. Duskwight because it fits with pugilist and prefer it over the classic elf from the woods. I want to play pugilist because monk was a job in ff11 I never did get to play but always wanted to.
I will be starting in Ul'dah because the large city with arenas and gambling seems exciting .

My first character will be a Wildwood Elezen Lancer from Limsa Lominsa with crafts in fishing and cooking.

Why?
In FF11 I was a taru dragoon and I loved it so, I thought I would try out lancer to see if the class is as good. I am just choosing Eleven because you dont get much respect as a short character with a polearm. As for Limsa Lominsa, it just looks like a beautiful city.

What race will i become and what city will i be starting in?

Most likely i will revert to my Galkan heritage and become a Roegadyn Seawolf blacksmith, because "Magusxmortis" couldn't possibly be seen as any other race.

As far as the starting city goes.... i may just have to break away from the desert scene after seeing the luscious waters that Limsa Lominsa has to offer!

For my first character I am going to play a Duskwight Elezen and I am going to start in the city of Ul’dah. At least right now that's my plan. I'm leaning towards focusing more on dps this time around, since I usually play a healer, and this time I want to focus on dps. After reading about the starting cities I think there will be more happening in Ul'dah, as far as crafting, tradehouse, players etc.

I will be a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te and I am hoping to train my skills as mostly an Archer or Pugilist, though I like that I can choose any class to play. I like the Miqo'te because I like their look and backstory - I really liked the Mithra the last go around and I'm excited to see their similarities and differences.

Gridania will be my starting city because I really loved the forest scenary and I am interested in the leatherworking profession.

Race: Miqo'te (The tail... the ears... how can I resist?)
Class: Culinarian (I love to cook, both in reality and in most games I have played) & Conjurer (I like to buff and debuff, with a side of healing)
Starting City: Gridania (It is incredibly beautiful, and a location with good access to agriculture sounds practical for a cook and lover of food!)

I will probably start with Wildwood Elezen, because I always wanted to be Elvaan in XI, even though I played as Hume. Wildwood, because I want some color to my skin. I am interested in playing Thaumaturge and Gladiator, because I have a history of playing DD characters and I want to try something new. I was always good at getting the enemy's attention, but never played a tank role, so I'm leaning toward trying Gladiator.

I am probably going to start in Lomsa Lominsa, because I have a feeling that if I start at one of the other nations, getting to Lomsa Lominsa will end up being sort of this difficult unknown, where it will take some time and effort to get there and I bet there will be some kind of cool reward once you get there, so I figured it would be cool to just start there, so I wouldn't go through the agony of trying to get there. Does that make any sense? lol

Hello,

My first character will be Hyur starting in Ul'dah with a Lancer-Alchemist-Botanist mix.

this trio will help make me self sufficient in down times, able to gather my own materials and still be able to venture out. The hometown, is easy because it is in the middle of the other nations, cutting down on travel time

Thank you!

I'll be playing as a Dunesfolk Lalafell this time around to try something new since normally I play as a larger character. Playing as a smaller character will be a good change of pace and another way to make a new game seem newer to me.

I'll be starting out at Limsa Lominsa because it seems like a interesting place to start, I like the look of the city and the water surrounding it.

Lalafell Plainsfolk Male in Limsa Lominsa. My family had me pick tarutaru in FFXI so in FFXIV all of us are picking Lalafell as our first chracter in Eorzea. Limsa Lominsa resembles Fisherman's Horizon and I enjoyed Fisherman's Horizon from FFVIII.

I plan on my first character being a Miqo'te, Pugilist and/or Archer. I enjoy both speed, agility, and occasionally hitting distant targets. The Miqo'te seem to be a highly agile and precise race.

This character nation-state will most likely be Gridania because of its forest surroundings.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

I will be playing as a Dunesfolk Male Lalafell Conjurer of Limsa Lominsa.

I would choose as Dunesfolk Lalafell because they are the race that seems the most attune to magic to me. They are also adorable and they are so tiny you can sneak up on anyone! I like the Dunesfolk Lalafell because of the glazed eyes. It makes them look mysterious and that would add a more mystical/magical effect to my Conjurer character.

I choose the Conjurer to be my main class because, as I said before, I enjoy magic. They "[call] upon elemental forces present in nature and concentrates them to a potency at which spells can be weaved." This is my kind of class. In addition, they have not only have amazing offensive spells, but they have defensive/supportive spells. I love being the person that everyone can count on to keep them safe. I can fulfill this role as a Conjurer.

My nation-state will be Limsa Lominsa primarily because of its beauty and location. Although I will be a Dunefolk Lalafell, I will still enjoy the sight of the sea. I like the idea and uniqueness of Limsa Lominsa. A combination of islands that form a nation. I also like the political views of Limsa Lominsa. A Thalassocracy lead by a political party and its leader. The ranking of Limsa's politics are interesting as well. The Admiral being their leader. Proving that Limsa's safety relies mainly on the seas and the navy. I really enjoy the idea of a city by the sea and hope to be able to immerse myself in the game real soon!

As for the reason, I played a Elvaan in XI and grew attached to my character and I am going to stick with him throughout my XIV campaign. I will probably be a Wildwood Elezen. In FFXI I was a Hume simply because when I started I had no idea what to pick and Hume was well rounded. Turned out as time went on I found I liked melee best, and always wished I had chosen Elvaan. Even though it appears as far as I know that FFXIV won't have race-specific stats, I also thought Elvaan looked better in melee armor than other races, so I will go with Elezen.

The placement of the guilds is going to determine where I want to start. Limsa Lominsa as of today is the only nation that lists guilds. I imagine I will end up there as it has the fishing guild. I had an Ebisu in FFXI. Gonna keep up the fishing.
