Race: Miqo'te - because my first char in FFXI was a Mithra so I want to get back to my Kitty kitty Roots
Job: Conjurer/herblist - Healie goodness coupled with my love of plants sounds FANTASTIC!!
Nation: Gridania - I love the forest and I have this small hope that the map for this beautiful city will be better than it was for Windurst.

I'll be going as a Seeker of the Sun, Miqo'te Archer this time. My starting city will be Gridania.

My reasons in choosing this race/job combo goes way back to FFXI and always wishing I had started out as a Mithra, but never wanting to cash in and start all over. I tend to enjoy ranged classes better in most MMO's I play so that's the reason on that choice and I'm hoping Archer is good this go round.

The starting city choice is based solely on the appearance, I like the woodlands looks of the Gridania city.

Thanks

That's a toughy. I'm debating between a Hyur Thaum (the whole aspect of manipulating the Aether in oneself to bring about such destructive power - the concept is just very cool) or Lalafell Glad/Conj (with concentration on healing/holy spells). Why? Because a little, righteous "warrior of light" would just be bada$$ - plus I think they'll look amazing in heavy armor!

City - Ul'dah. Gambling and a fighting arena...need I say more? =)

I will play Miqo'te I like cat races. I would start in Limsa Lominsa, to be honest I dont know much about the area but love vikings and this reminds me of the vikings.

I cant wait to play this game I have played all the FF games in the past and even pre order the collectors edition of this. Going to be a long wait until the 22 lol.

My first character in Eorzea will be a male Elezen Pugilist in Limsa Lominsa.

I've always liked the look of any elf-type race in games so I usually end up picking it if it's available. Pugilist is similar to Monk from FFXI which was my favorite job. Limsa Lominsa just looks incredible from what footage and information I have gathered on it, so I am going to start there.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

As for my race ill be Miqo'te ( Keepers of the Moon ) because I just love them... And my class will probably be Archer, just because I've always been some sort of heal/caster type, I want something different this time. :) And my city will be Gridania..I like the look of it. :D Can't wait for the game~

My first character will be a Miqo'qe since I'm one of those crazy people that like to play a cat like race. ;)

Out of all the locations Gridania seems like the nicest place to actually live so that will be my choice.

What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

Thinking of being a Hyur. I generally like being able to do different things, although it often feels discouraging NOT being really good at something like some of the other races. I think I'm going to play the market in this game and spend a lot of time crafting, making thinks like Jewelry or being a Carpenter. For this I think I'll have to start in Ul'dah. For fighting I'm gonna be a lancer, because I love the aesthetic look of them and Dark Knights, and I also want to try something different, as I used to play MNK.

I'll be starting as a Lalafell lancer from Gridania.

Why?

I'm pretty excited about playing a less-stubby taru, I love spears and I really love the look of the Gridanian concept art.

I will be a Hyur Highlander starting in Ul'dah. I chose Highlander based on some assumptions, being: 1 might have pretty equal stats (like the humans in FFXI), but (2) might have a slight advantage in strength or dex because of their slight larger build. I figure if my assumptions are correct I can stick with a DoW but also have stats if I switch to DoM. Ul'day because I grew up in a dessert and I love it!! (Utah, USA. woot!)

I will be playing as a Lalafell as I think they're the coolest race, and I played a tarutaru character in FF11. Probably of the dunesfolk variety. I would like to start in Ul'dah, it seems the busiest and most bustling!

Miqo'te Archer Limsa Lominsa

I will choose Migo'te because of my love for the Mithran race and I'm anxious to see how they will split the Seekers of the Moon and Keepers of the Sun. I'm looking forward to stepping foot in an interconnected island city-state like Limsa Lominsa and I've always had an affinity for islands and water in games, especially in FFXI, which I'd like to continue in FFXIV.

I'm going to play as Elezen Lancer for the state of Ul'Dah because the lancer is by far my favorite job most comparable to the dragoon. As well Ul'Dah contains the lancer troops to support me.

My First character will be a Female Lalafel Gladiator. Playing FFXI with my other two house mates as a Red Mage with two other mages I wish to be able to hold my own and tank with my friends so we can take our adventures from Vana Diel to Eoriza. I want to start in Gridania because I love earthy magical forests.

Good luck everyone ^^/

My first character: Highland Hyur
Nation: LIMSA LOMINSA

Why: Im going to be a Maruader first of all and to me I think Hyur in general are going to be a balanced race, then maybe I'll move to gladiator afterwards. My DOH will be blacksmith so I can create my own weapons and sell weapons. I chose Limsa Lominsa because it fits me and my character plus it reminds me kind of like Bastok in FFXI. I chose Marauder cause its the closest thing to Dark Knight and out of all my MMO experience FFXI Dark Knight was the best class out of all, plus I like dealing damage face to face no stand back and cast and run crap.

So hopefully I get drawn so I can see which route to take on this game when it's release.

My first character is going to be a lancer, haven't decided on a Lalafell or Miqote yet, I just like them both :) So far as which City-State, I'm leaning towards Ul'dah.

Why? I've always liked Dragoons in other games, and polearms have always struck me as very neat and interesting weapons. Ul'dah because I haven't really looked to far into the city's yet, and my friends are all leaning towards there, but also there has been much less information released so there will be more surprises!

I plan to play as a Miqo'te and start in the city of Gridania. I perfer the Miqo'te for their lore and the fact that they look more nimble than the other races. I am starting in Gridania because I prefer forest areas and Gridania fits the bill nicely.

My first FF14 Character will be a...

Duskwight Elezen Pugilist, starting in Limsa Lominsa.

Elezen because I'm an Elvaan in FF11 and have always preferred it to the other races.

Duskwight and Pugilist because both this sub race and disciple of war appear to be a blend of FF11 Thief and Monk, two jobs I loved playing.

Finally, I plan to start in Limsa Lominsa because I've lived most of my life near the Ocean and love it.

I would like to start playing an Elezen, in Gridania. The Elezen strike me as more somber and disciplined, and the serene shade of Gridania called to me from the very start. It's a natural combination of how I already feel and what I already love.

I will be making a Miqo'te archer of Gridania. I choose the class combination because I feel that the miqo'tes really have the stealthy feel to their race, and an archer would be their ideal role to play in Final Fantasy. I chose Gridania because that also feels like it would be their enviornment.

Hopefully Pikarya again - Miqote, probably of the sun - and Gridania or Limsa for starting cities...because I like the Windurst feel yet also like port cities! I kind of hope I can focus on crafts, I'm so excited about that.

I'll be starting off as a Midland Hyur Lancer in Limsa Lominsa.

Midland Hyur because of their average build - not too big, not too small, just the right size.

Lancer because of its tactical nature in battle

Limsa Lominsa because of its more cheerful atmosphere, as compared to the other two towns which, imo, the atmosphere is rather dull. Also will be taking on blacksmithing as a trade, and the guild is in Limsa Lominsa.

My first character will be a Duskwight Elezen Conjurer. I'll start in Limsa Lominsa. I like the character model of the Elezen and thought starting out as the conjurer would be a good class to start building skills. I'm a fan of soloing so being able to heal myself quickly is always a plus. I'm going with Limsa so hopefully I'll have easy access to some good fishing spots!

My first character in Eorzea will be a Miqo'te Keeper of the Moon.
The nation-state I will start in? Gridania.

I have always played the little characters like Lalafell, so this will be a nice change. I am also a cat-lover, so this really appeals to me. I'd like to start my Miqo'te in Gridania because my cat loves to climb trees, and as a Keeper of the Moon, I'd like to roam the forest at night hunting my prey! Can't wait, I'm so excited :D

Elezen Archer

Limsa Lominsa

I absolutely loved fishing in FFXI and spent forever to obtain my Ebisu Rod. Am hoping for the same type of relaxing challenge in FFXIV. I'm sure i will play most classes but being a fisherman will be the first thing i do too.

I'd have to say that the first character I make would be a Lalafell Black Mage and I would reign from the Gridania Empire.

I chose the race because of how I feel a better connection with the smaller races of many games and how people come to underestimate them. Also, I would be a black mage for the sole fact that magic has an element to it that attacking simply doesn't have. Reigning from Gridania is a good chose for my class because that country is based off of wisdom which is what a wizard of any type would need when facing an enemy.

My first character will be Elezen, I've always liked how elvaan looked, and how elves looked in general. My first character wayyy back in 2003 was an Elvann so im looking forward to reliving some old memories :D. Im not sure what ill play as first but i always enjoyed jumping around and trying everything before choosing to go past lvl 10, or did in 11 so we'll see.

Nation-state will be Ul'dah from what i've seen it looked phenomenal, and i can only imagine how square will play out the ruling Syndicate and the halls of Nald'thal. It all looks pretty exciting. Hoping Square's top notch writing and story telling shine in 14.

Hello,

I believe I'd like to play as a Miqo'te, with the starting area as Gridania, since it seems rather similar to Windurst, from FFXI. Windurst was always my favorite area in FFXI, particularly because of all the greenery present. Very excited to get a chance to try the beta out. Thank you.

My first character will be a Miqote Seeker of the Sun chef from Gridania. I love cooking in real life and it's what I want to do in game as well. As far as Gridania is concerned, if the area is a magical forest environment like I imagine, I would fall in love with it immediately.

My first character would have to be a Plainsfolk Lalafell Thaumaturge or Conjurer because I've always been more of a caster and I love my Taru RDM in FFXI and plan to carry that on. I'll probably start off in Limsa Lominsa because several factors make it appealing to me, "Its economy is driven by shipbuilding, fishing, and blacksmithing, but the majority of wealth comes from the lucrative shipping industry" and "However, even in the waters nearby the city, pirate bands run rampant, reaving and pillaging."
