What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?:

I will be starting off as a Elezen Pugilist in the grand nation-state of Gridania! Though I have yet to decide on my clan, deciding factor may just come down to hair styles, haha. As with FFXI and FFXIV I choose to be a proud and daring Elf-like race to defend my allies and shatter the hearts of my foes most efficiently but still hold true to Elvaan/Elezen heritage. Pugilist is almost exactly like a Monk from FFXI and with decent survivability I will be able swiftly to venture through the world of Eorzea and protect my brethren, plus I think PUG will be very enjoyable in groups and solo. Though I am fairly certain on my Race/Class choices I have been know to flip-flop many times since trying new classes is always tons of fun!

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Definately going for Archer as a Miqo'te, just like when I read about XI in my days of noobiness, just a nature loving character who comes dashin in to save the day and stop that aggroing mob with a damaging arrow. Starting out at Gridania as well, its just such a beautiful place and Im feeling the atmosphere from that alot more that Limsa.

My first character will be a Wildwood Elezen archer from Gridania. I will create this character because it is the ultimate "fantasy" character. You do not get more traditional than an elf with a bow & arrow. It will be a fantastic way to start on a game that is sure to be a classic.

I'll be playing as a Hellsguard Roegadyn Gladiator, starting in Ul'Dah. I was a Bastokian Galka in FF11 so those choices seemed like a natural transition for my new character. Besides, who doesn't like a big hulking meat shield?

My first character will be Lalafell (I was a Taru in FFXI). I'm not sure on class yet. I like to test drive a car before I buy it. :) Most likely it will be a mage class.

I'm starting in Gridania because that's where the rest of my linkshell will start. Need to stick together!

I'm thinking of starting a Roegadyn, and starting in Gridania. Roegadyn because they are manly. Gridania because I don' want to start in a desert. also don't want to start in the beta starting zone either.

Hello Everyone my first post on ZAM forums. So sorry if I dress it up a little bit

My first character in FFXIV will be Roegadyn Goldsmith/Lancer from the Hellsguard and I will start in Limsa Lominsa. The reason behind this is multi-faceted like diamonds and when I am not impaling nasty creatures on the end of my spear you will find me crafting gold wonders with said diamonds. And in my off-time you will find me taking in the amazing beauty of the seaside community.

First character: Hyur gladiator because I tend to favor human races and tanking
Nation-state: Limsa Lominsa simply because I don't know much about the options and I think this one was mentioned in the benchmark software

I plan to create a Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon. Most likely start as a Thaumaturge in Ul'dah.

Why?
I've enjoyed the feral-type races from all games, including FF11. Thaumaturge seems like a great new class with interesting abilities. And Ul'dah seems like a city you could become easily immersed in. The little information we have about it already has me super excited!

1st character definitely gonna be conjurer of the dunes. even tho i'ma rank up my scepter at the same time. i love magic and its hard to decide which path to take. so y not just walk down both path at the same time.

UL'dah sounds good to me. i may not be rich nor influential but true power will soon be mine.

My plan is to re-create memories from FFXI so I will be playing a male Wildwood Elezen Gladiator!

I think that I would like to start in Gridania. The wooded setting in the artwork looks beautiful. I'm a sucker for forests.

My first character will be a Roegadyn miner/goldsmith and i'll start in Ul'dah.

Why? Because I think Roegadyns are beastly and I want to be a goldsmith so I can make some money! Ul'dah seems like the place to make money, so that's where I'm goin!

My character will be a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te Pugilist living in Ul'dah. My avatar was a Tarutaru in FFXI, and while I really like it, this time I would like to try a more "grown-up" character ;) And I really love what they did with Miqo'te in XIV in comparison to Mithra - better looking, cool animations and so on. While I will of course want to try out every discipline I will probably stick to Pugilist. I was always playing mage classes before, but Pugilists have such awesome armors in the screenshots release by S-E I just have to play them! As for the city, I'm picking Ul'dah because I'm really interested too see how this desert environment will look (personally, I'm hoping for some ancients tombs or pyramids to explore, but that's just a dream :D)

Class : Archer or Thaumaturge

Race : Miqo'te .

Starting City: Gridania, I really want to try them all :).

I have been waiting for a game that allow you to play all class under 1 toon for a long time. The graphic are absolutely stunning. The level of detail in every aspect of the game are really impressive for what i can see so far.

I want to be able to help testing the game and leave as much feedback as possible before the public release.

Q: What will your first character in Eorzea be and what nation-state will you start in? Why?

A: My character will be a Duskwight Elezen that will start of as a Thaumaturge but will eventually become its own class bringing in skills from other classes. He will start in Gridania.

Looking to join because I know there must be a ton to test and break in the beta currently, maybe even suggest things differently so there could be no shortage of helping hands.

I'm gonna start out as a Roegadyn Conjurer. I've always liked to try out weird combination's to see if they're plausible or not. As for the nation-state, it will be Ul'dah since the idea of a huge desert fortress is awesome.

Lalafell ~ I have been a Tarutaru for nearly 7 years in FFXI. The smart and cheeky little fellows have grown so much on me i could not play anything else and the Lalafell seem to be the closest to a tarutaru i can get. They might be cute and adorable but they still pack a punch!

Gridania ~ Disciple of the land is very interesting and living in the woodlands of eastern Aldenard seems appropriate. I am also very excited about the Polearm wielding class and Gridania is the home of the Wood Wailers.

I'm going to be a Lalafell Pugilist from Gridania most likely.

It was a lot of fun playing a Tarutaru in FFXI, that I can't help but make a Lalafell. I've always enjoyed playing hand-to-hand wielding classes in all games, so I might as well give it a good look in 14 too. I'll be starting in Gridania because it seems like it could be a very interesting and beautiful area of the game.

Roegadyn conjurer in Ul'dah will be me. What's more awesome than a big hulking mage? I was a clothcrafter in ffxi and since Ul'dah was described as having a "prestigious clothcrafting community" it just makes sense for me.

Elezen Pugilist Male Noble and Refined! Sounds like a Chef to me { Wildwood Elezen }

For hundreds of years the Wildwood Elezen have lived in the safety of Eorzea’s lush forests. They possess an incredibly keen sense of sight — a contributing factor in their unparalleled expertise as archers. With the formation of the realm’s governments, many Wildwood ventured forth from the forests, drawn either to the exhilarating cosmopolitanism of the urban centers or the simple nomadism of the plains.

However if the choice of race is a factor this time around I will have to pick { Duskwight Elezen }

The Duskwight Elezen have spent centuries in the peace and seclusion of Eorzea’s caves and caverns. They have developed an acute sense of hearing, capable of detecting the faintest of sounds. This natural gift, and the uncanny awareness it grants, has proven advantageous in the field of hand-to-hand combat. Many of the reclusive Duskwight resort to robbery and pillaging to survive, earning them the scorn of their woodland relatives.

I'll choose Limsa Lominsa My main reason for this is I want to be a Chef in this game just like in FFXI!

My first character would be a hyur Thaumaturge in Ul’dah hoping to emulate a white mage class with my skills. I would like to start in Ul’dah because from what I have read it seems to be most familair to my first home, Bastok. I would like to be a hyur-thaumaturge because I am a hyur in real life that can not heal people with spells.

I am going to create a dunesfolk Lalafell starting in the city of Ul'dah. I really love the look of the Lalafell especially the dunesfolk and I wouldn't want to spoil my friends idea of having a 100% lalafell linkshell. Why Ul'dah? I will most certainly be a Hyur Alchemist, hailing from the twisting wood of Gridania.

Dabbling in alchemical lore and working to maste the art of conjury will be my main focus, learning to listen and use the land to every advantage. Gridania being the spiritual hub for conjury and with a hint that Alchemy research will stem from the city-state - I will become a central icon of alchemy research and progression, pushing the limits of nature to the greatest.

My First Character will be Male Midland Hyur Archer in Gridania. Because when i played FFXI i started off as Elvaan but always regretted not starting off as Hume. However i did like San d'Oria and its surrounding forest area. So I'm assuming Gridania's starting location will prove to be somewhat similar. Also my favorite Job in FFXI was Ranger so gotta go Archer.

I plan on playing as an Elezen Lancer from Gridania. I enjoyed duoing dragoon with a buddy of mine in ffxi, so I think it would be fun to play a similar class again.

I'll then probably do some work as a botanist. I guess that depends on if it's a financially easy job to get into just starting out in-game.

My first (and hopefully only) character in Eorzea will be a Sun-Seeker Miqo'te, probably a Pugilist, starting in Gridania. I played a Mithra in FFXI for years, and I like the looks of their Eorzean incarnation even better, so I'm excited to be a saucy catgirl again. I was also a Windurstian in FFXI and I'm basically in love with anything forest-y, so I can't wait to explore (read: get lost in) the Gridanian woods :D

First character is going to be either a Hyur Archer or an Elezen Archer, starting in Ul'dah.

The reason for the character is because it's what I play in every MMO. I'm a Ranger/Archer for life. Played it back in 1993 Dungeons & Dragons second edition, played it in Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Diablo 2, Neverwinter Nights, DDO, and played it in FFXI and a bunch of other RPGs. Will definitely play it in XIV.

The reason for the city state is because it most resembles Bastok and it most likely houses the goldsmithing guild (if there is one). My hometown in XI was Bastok, and I want that familiar Gustaberg feel when I go out and level up for the first time. I was a goldsmith in XI, and plan to be the same (if it is effective playing both Archer and Goldsmith on the same char) in XIV.

I'm going to start a Gladiator first in Gridania. I played a tank back in the day and want to relive the memories. I also like the sword weapon types and think that the new class system has tons of room for customization to make a tank even a great melee dps. I wanted to start in Gridania because I've seen tons of Limsa Lominsa footage and wanted to start fresh in a new city!

I always loved Bastok but never been able to actually be a Bastok Citizen as I had to follow (especially at low lvls) my friends from Windurst. This time I will follow my hearth ^.^
