I have mixed feelings. You guys do not want to alienate legit new posters. For people who say "I have been a poster for 6 years I deserve a invite over someone newer" feels kinda selfish. I do agree long term posters do in fact deserve to be recognized but EVERYONE wants to try this game out. One thing Ive learned from the work force. Promotions are not given based on seniority (posts) but rather performance and dedication (whether you've been with the company for 3 months or 3 years). Everyone should just be happy we got an extra chance to be selected.
I think the concern here is less about people who are genuinely new to Zam and more about sock accounts being created just so someone can get more entries
It's both. The fact that some one doesn't happen to post a ton shouldn't be held against them, but I don't see why people who have been living and dying with every new piece of information on the forums should be on equal footing with people who literally just created an account today. Like I said, I know the ZAM staff is happy for the traffic and hopes that many of these 1 post posters will turn into regulars (part of why you participate in some thing like this in the first place is to drive traffic) I just think their prospects are dubious, while those who have even dozens of posts much less hundreds or thousands are more "sure things"
The odds of some one getting an invite and then saying 'SEE YA!' or just selling the thing in ebay is much higher when they're not a known quantity in the community. If Mikhailia or Bsphil or whoever wins a key, I feel reasonably sure they're make use of it (in bsphil's case, probably just to yell at all the kids in beta to get off of his lawn, but still). Is randomguy12 going to make good use of it? I have no idea, and chance are we'll never see him or her make a useful post here.
