I had a friend asking me, and I was curious to know...

Would it be possible to register for a NA account and try to go for the Beta, and when it's all done, keep that account and use it with the EU version of FFXIV?

I'm not sure if this will have any negative consequences or if it's even possible. o.o Anyone else know?

Nope. Recently, SE announced that your XIV's software region must match your SE account's region. e.g. If you have your SE account registered as Europe, you must buy the European XIV software.

Hi,

New guy here :)

I am interested in this problem. I am rom Scotland but i want to play with my US friends on a NA server. Whats the best thing to do? I was able to do this in AoC - do you think this will be ok here?

Thanks in advance!

Servers are shared by everyone. There are no NA, EU or JP servers. Just make sure your software region matches your SE account region. After that, decide what server you all want to play on and you'll be good to go.

It is likely that the servers won't be separated into different regions, therefore you will most likely be able to play with people, no matter which part of the world they're in. :)

The best thing to do is just make an account on each (EU and NA), just use a different email address. The NA account will be prety useless to you after the beta anyway so just sign up the release to your EU account.
