Upgrading desktop for FFXIVFollow

Sorry I could not use the search function to see if my rig has enough juice to run ffxi if one of the components are upgraded.

Currently I have a desktop with the following specs.

Q6600 2.4 Ghz
Windows 7 64

My scores were terribly slow in the benchmark.

I am thinking that upgrading the gfx card would get my PC to play decent in Low settings. Currently which card would be the best that is about $200 on the current market now?

My entire plan is to upgrade the CPU/MB early next year when I get more funds. But for now my target is to get the PC playable at decent speed (2500+).

For $200 USD, I'd have to suggest the GTX 460.

Mikhalia: and FWIW, my posts are 95% helpful, informative, or funny.
Mikhalia: only 5% or less of my posts are utter crap.
Tyapex: 393 posts of utter crap...
Mikhalia: Sounds about right.

Yeah the 460 would definitely help.. You've already said you're looking to upgrade your processor and MB, assuming you actually do that you should be ok on average-ish settings (maybe a little better than average if you don't skimp on the CPU).

I do recommend waiting until the last possible minute to buy your card and your CPU as the price of these things only goes down as time marches on, who knows... you might be able to stick a 470 in there if you wait until the end of September
