Don't do anything.

No, seriously.

My mother is a total technophobe. She has no email address. She barely knows what the internet is, outside of "That thing you and your father do all day".

And yet she gets this...

http://s153.photobucket.com/albums/s202/ChickinSammich/?action=view&current=100_0204.jpg

Three high-quality glossy postcards, for Star Ocean TLH, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Final Fantasy XIII, show up in the mail, addressed to her.

She certainly didn't sign up for anything; not only would she not even know where to begin, but -I'm- signed up for all their "Yeah, you guys can send me free ****; I'm cool with that" offers and I didn't get them... she did.

Very odd.

She was gonna throw em out but told me "I kept them in case you wanted em, cause they look like something you might like."

Mikhalia: and FWIW, my posts are 95% helpful, informative, or funny.
Mikhalia: only 5% or less of my posts are utter crap.
Tyapex: 393 posts of utter crap...
Mikhalia: Sounds about right.

I once ordered a Dragon Quest 8? demo from SE and it came with a slime key charm, free; though not exactly unsolicited.

I just got my postcards on Tuesday, as well. Star Ocean IV is a horrible abortion of an RPG, and don't get me started on XIII, but I do enjoy these postcards! I registered XIII and Kindgdom Hearts [insert ridiculous name here] on DS, earning me the lowly Bronze Status for the gift.

A nice little surprise, though I'm much more looking forward to my Mario statue from the Platinum Club Nintendo Gift this year! :P

I believe the highest status Square-Enix Members got a special iPod Touch. It's a shame S-E didn't put out constant garbage on consoles nowadays, or I'd have gotten one of those iPods, for sure. Had it been any previous console generation, I'd have likely had enough of their games registered for two iPods; such a shame as to the shell of their former selves they have become...

Anyway, enjoy the postcards!

I can see it now...

Mik walks in the front door, his folks not expecting him to show up at that time. He walks into the living room and sees mom and dad cosplaying Mithra Smiley: laugh

You sir have put a mental image into my head that only a bullet could remove. Psychologically scarring someone over the internet is not a skill that many people are possessed of, grats on that.

I think I need to go find some pills now or else I won't be able to sleep tonight...

Got my postcards sometime last week, my friend is still waiting on his ipod to arrive. If you ever want registration codes but don't want to buy the games just get a job at gamestop, or just don't get caught taking them from inside the display cases.
