I just ran the benchmark video and scored a 256!!! lol This is what I am running:

desktop PC
Intel duo 2 Quad 2.4 GB
2 GB ram
Radeon HD 4350 Video card
500GB HD

Can anyone help me out with this?

If I upgrade to the:

Radeon 5830 HD 1 GB card & add 2 GB of ram for a total of 4Gb's should I score much higher? I mean thats a 300.00 upgrade and want to make sure i'm not going to not be able to run FFXIV after spending that kind of money.. Thanks for any info guys!! Cookieman.

The duo's have trouble with the benchmark.

Perhaps when the game comes out it will support the duo a little better, but I wouldn't bank on it.

i7 920 and a 5830 with 4g ram should be all you need.

Processor - you put "Intel Duo 2 Quad"... is that a Duo or a Quad? If it's a Duo, upgrade to Quad.
RAM is way too low. Upgrade to 4 GB.
Video card is horrible Upgrade to AT LEAST a 5770, preferably a 5800 or higher or a GTX 460 or higher.

Probably. I'd need to know what kind of motherboard you have to tell you that.

If you upgrade to an I7 you are most definitely going to need to upgrade your mobo. The Core Duo series use the LGA775 sockets while I believe the I7's use the 1366 sockets. You were pretty vague in posting your specs as well. I mean what operating system are you currently using? Win 7, 32 or 64 bit? What is your mobo? Have you attempted to overclock either the cpu or the graphics card? We need more information if we are to help you.

Edit: Forgot to post this, dl Cpu-z that will give you the information that we need.

Biggest problem is the GPU. HD 4350 is a very low-end card. It's on par with like, 128 MB RAM cards from 2006.

I agree with bsphill, after looking up your card (no experience with ATI) its due for an upgrade, I would also suggest upgrading memory along with new OS to take advantage of the memory (go 64 bit). I break 3k on low with a Core Duo 2 oc'd to 3.3ghz and a pair of ****** 8800gts' in SLI. I really want to see what your Quad core can do.

FYI: Scoring 2.5k+ on the benchmark should net you capped fps for most stuff in-game with standard settings. Will dip lower when you're in cities surrounded by people, but you should expect that.

Just keeping things in perspective for people who are worried about not blowing the benchmark scores away.

Eh, I wouldn't expect a miracle if you're only getting 256 on high settings.

Problem with throwing in more memory is if you're running a 32 bit OS is that the OS is not going to recognize and utilize all the available memory. I think the limit is 3 gigs, and I'm not sure if this limit is shared between the memory on the mobo and the memory that is on the graphics card. I'm sure someone on this board who is more technical savvy can give a more in depth explanation than I.

Yeah, if you're running XP SP3, your OS won't recognize the 4th GB of RAM or higher; you'd need to upgrade to a 64 bit OS.

After I upgraded to a Radeon 5770 I got a better benchmark score on my system, low setting.

Windows Vista Home Premium X64 SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHz
3GB DDR2 667 (2GBx1, 1GBx1)
BIOSTAR TP45E Combo v6.0 Motherboard
ASUS ATI CuCore Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 128-bit

With default settings on my processor I scored just over 3000. With the processor OC'd to 3.6GHz (Stock Cooling) I reached 3750. So dual core processors can be used. Unfortunately my PC loads really slow now that I only have 3GB of ram installed. Gotta wait until next month when I can buy some new ram. My board's a budget board, an emergency replacement since my other board met an untimely demise so suddenly. Because of this it can only use up to 8GB of DDR2 1066 or 4GB of DDR3 1333 memory, sufficient to say the least until next year's tax return.

i'm sure you be able to play with 5830 video card and 4gb of ram under the low resolution setting. for high i think y ou need to upgrade your motherboard too to i5 or i7.
