Everytime I read about something new or see some new screenshots, it makes the time until release slink even slower...lol

The other day I almost signed up for the free trial of ffxi just so I could get a fix. Kinda wish I didn't delete everything when I quit, or I'd play some ffxi until release. I miss running around on my BST.

Wow, you deleted everything when you quit eh?

I'm not sure I could really ever do that, personally. Even when I am absolutely, 100% certain that I'll never return to an MMO (which I never really am), just deleting years and years of work is a bit too much for me.

Gaurdian, that's what kept me playing ffxi for 5 years was the community/friends. It took me 2-3 yrs to get my first 75 because I just enjoyed logging on to chat in LS while I crafted/fished.

Osarion, yeah I deleted everything. I knew If I just "unsubscribed" I would no doubt come back. I started going back to school last semester and I didn't want the temptation of ffxi to hurt my "studies". I didn't take any classes this summer and really missed ffxi, which makes the wait until ffxiv unbearable...lol

I did the same this when I quit. I was so fed up with some people I went to the extreme to make sure I'd never return. Few years later I came back briefly and starting all over from scratch was enough to make me give it up again. At least deleting everything served its purpose. It made sure I wouldn't ever find the motivation to come back. Thinking about it now though, I should have just gotten a world-pass and transferred servers. Meh, live and learn.

I miss my BST too. I hope they add a BST to FFXIV later. Part of me wants to play FFXI until release but it would not be the same with all my friends gone.

I tried to get back into my account a few times. PlayOnline just doesn't care about getting old players back. It took close to no effort to get back my WoW account after 3-4 years. As much as I don't like WoW all that much, at least their Customer Service was on the ball and helped me. I also had no trouble getting back into my EQ2 account. Even though my address has changed and billing credentials are different, it was easy to get my password reset.

I loved BST so much... that was my favorite class and the only reason I leveled my WHM (and later NIN). I still remember massacring BCNM's with an all BST PT. When I played WoW I went Hunter and Warlock but it wasn't the same and in Aion I'm a Spirit Master. If SE implements a pet type class, I'm all over it.

I liked the PUP & SMN, but I had a difficult time with my BST job. I think I got him to L.18ish so I never got to try the job with the pet release ability. I never got use to having to keep running to zone when my pet breaks my charm and now I have to angry mobs on me.

If you don't mind me switching gears, I had a lot of fun with my evil EQ2 Coercer. Their charm had a limited duration like the BST but I had the ability to release mobs & recharm early on.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the release date coming so soon, I didn't expect anything til early Dec. so this is just like a nice present for me from squeenix.
