This morning I decided to share my apps I've created with a couple of other FFXIV communities out there, spreading the wealth so to speak. While for the most part it has gone OK, in at least one instance it didn't go very well at all (I'm not going to get in to specifics) and through this I've learned that the community we have here at Zam.com is special.

We have our trolls to be sure (they are even kharma bombing the feedback forum Smiley: laugh), but we have a LOT of great people here, even the ones who don't post very much or only come out of the woodwork here and there. The regulars are also great, there is a lot of personality here and it is awesome. Our admins are fantastic, the boards are the easiest to use by far (IMO), and the site runs smooth as butter.

What I'm trying to say is, thank you all for being who you are. I'm looking forward to creating new friendships as the game launches and we all get to experience it; I've already made quite a few new friends (especially over in IRC, you guys really need to join us Smiley: nod), Mikahlia, Geffe, Olor, Jereth, Sephrick, and many more. Everyone here rocks Smiley: thumbsup

Yeah, I have to agree with you on the community here. I've always enjoyed lurking here and its up there with The Escapist forums on my list of places that I frequent. Also, your trolls are few and far between from what I've seen so thats not really a problem :P

Also, you guys have an IRC? :o

Hello,

Decided to join today, as I am anticipating FFXIV. Used to post on KI, not often, but occasionally.

Seems like a good community.

P.S., I can't change my avatar for some reason, it just sits there and loads, any ideas?

However, should you decide to stay, premium is very much worth it. No ads, a lot of other features in the forums (like mouseover thread views, avatars, smilies, etc). $3 a month is cheap Smiley: thumbsup

Agreed. I've only been here a month or so and it's by far one of the friendliest and most easygoing forums I've been on. Everyone's interesting and helpful, and the banter is good fun. Here's hoping it carries over into the game too :)

However, I don't like bacon

Just remember Wint, opnions are like @**holes. Everyone's got one, and they all stink.
i don't even know you, but you went out of your way to make a very nice windows gadget. When I suggested the mere possibility of a rainmeter version [I'm not much for windows gadgets, they tend to start multiplying over time. . not worth the temptation] you could've razzed me for asking too much. Instead, you were at least open to possibility. That in and of itself makes you a somewhat rare specimen.

If other people on other forums can't appreciate you, feel free to simply stay here. I'm sure nobody on this forum will object to selfishly keeping you for ourselves ;)
