Hello new to these parts

Played FFXI

And I remember it was a pain to pay for

Credit Cards and Debit Cards were allowed

Then after I got hacked they wouldn't accept my Debit Card

Are they gonna make FFXIV easier to pay for?

Like have game cards like WoW does or something?

I do believe this is why FFXI wasnt as popular as WoW

Apparently, Pre Paid Cards for Final Fantasy 14 have started popping up on various web sites, so it looks like pre paid game cards will be a viable method of payment.

Really? This is the first I'm hearing of this. Considering the monthly fee will vary based on the number of characters you have, I'm not sure how this is even possible, unless you're talking about reloadable Visa/MastarCard cards.

Do you have a link?

Well, guess that's promising for those who don't have plastic. I'm still skeptical as to how this will actually work with the fact you can purchase extra character/retainers. I will be paying for FFXIV same as I have for the past 6 years for FFXI, so no worries on my end.

Interesting, if that works out a lot more people will be happy. There's all kinds of threads on the various forums looking something like "Only verified Visa?? FFXIV = FAIL!" I like the idea, if I can make payments without using my normal CC then I'll definitely go that route.

I have been trying to create a new account for FFXI (no longer have my old card or account info for my retired ffxi/pol account) for the last 4 days. My mastercard is securecard registered and works fine, but S-E's system keeps having issues confirming it to create my account. I've spoken with my bank and they confirmed it wasn't an issue on their end :/. And I really don't want to start a new banking account just to play a game >_>. So it looks like prepaid cards are the way to go :/.

If S-E gets rid of the securecard / vbv system or corrects the issues, I will go the credit/debit card route. Only time will tell. Plus I'm guessing the prepaid cards will be for specified amounts like PSN and X360 point cards.

*edit* whoooo finally found a topic to get my 1 post on my new username (forgot all my information and was registered to my old college email).

Welcome to ZAM, or ZAM poster from lurker, whichever it is

I remember it taking me forever to get it to accept my (perfectly normal) card as well, eventually I got it working, but I don't remember how...
