Who plays things a 30fps these days?

YES!!...and this means what exactly (in layman's terms)?

The cast timer for Return and Teleport has been removed.
Players will now be immediately teleported once they select their destination.

Thank goodness. That teleport timer looked annoying.

Quote:
The KO penalty has been decreased from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.

Excellent.

We're on the right track here. Now all we need is a timer decrease on the guildleve system.

This is all great stuff. It looks like SE are really listening to what the Beta community are saying.

Very refreshing stuff - Good to see all the updates and can't wait to hear about how P3 goes.

Hopefully.. and I say this not wanting FFXIV to be like WOW but they'll make the guildleve system more like dailys and allow you to complete more per day as you progress. Maybe each region will have its own guildleve crystal so as your lvl allows you access to more areas you can complete more per day.

From what I've heard, every gathering class has two modes of gathering. One is a "hot and cold" type mini game and the other is a simple succeed/don't succeed check. For Fishers, fishing with a pole is the "skill" method and spear fishing is the random luck method. You find a pool you stand in the pool, you spear fish until you get some thing or the pool goes away, and then you go on to the next pool.

Chances are the really good items will come from the mini game and the very common items will come from the simple gather.

I remember the auto translate function to be a bit clunky in FFXI; more in terms of finding specific things through the menu. I hope it gets streamlined a bit.

Oh the lifting of the 30fps worries me. Ugh I'll have to buy a new card to take advantage of the higher fps...(I'm looking for any excuse to buy a card! :D)

I'm so glad all the things so many thought would not change are being implemented. Did anyone notice the Linkshell "crest" option?! We get a crest now? :) This makes me even more excited and hopeful for the next 5-7 years of my life.

Hopefully not limited to 6 lines.
Weeee I <3 Macros.
Bring equipment blinking back!!!! Wait?? What??

Lifting the 30FPS limit = epic!
So happy I went with the 5870!

Plus, the adding of additional character creation options is awesome! I think we can expect to see MORE and MORE options as time goes on, and finally a plethora of hair options at launch! It wouldn't really make sense for a next-gen game to only have 4-8 different hairstyles for each race.

Simply amazing. I have especially been waiting for the fisherman to rear his ugly head and there he is YAY!!!

I hope that the system will be awesome and the fact that there are two ways to fish sounds amazing. I really hope they got it right :D

Now if I can only get one of the German beta accounts and go check it out....

Quite a few of the good PC games released in the early and mid 2000s I play only run @30 FPS and sometimes up to 50, e.g Ys Oath in Felghana and Origin doesn't have that big of a difference @ higher than 30.

Great news!

Quote:
The following changes and additions have been made to the party recruitment system:

Players will be able to join a party without changing classes, as long as they meet the recruitment conditions.
Players will be able to send party invites to a player in another area, as long as they are in the same region.

Interesting, it says "recruitment conditions". Does that mean the Leader can set the recruitment conditions and then anyone who is applicable can just join with no invite?

If so, can you search all forming parties' recruitment conditions to see what is availabe?

Sounds suspiciously like the party formation upgrades that I have been wishing for!

I'm assuming that 'recruitment conditions' means if the party asks for a level 5 Pugilist, but I'm currently a level 30 Lancer with my Pugilist at level 5, then even though I'm currently at level 30, the system knows I can also be a level 5 Pugilist and therefore I can be invited to the party... or something.

I thought I read elsewhere on here that you automatically joined parties......sounds odd the recruiter gets no choice.

75 fps.......guess that means I'm getting the more expensive card.

Hope the macros are more extensive too.

I'm sure the recruiter can choose to not allow people to join automatically.

Setting a condition and then letting people fill the party would be excellent. Expecially for that last spot that sometimes takes an hour of searching to find. If the right class could just join in and ~walla~ full party that would be a huge improvement.

With so many hybrids available (basically everyone) it seems that forming a party will be a completely different task at any rate.

I'm debating Kefka or Garland. While Kefka has to be the best (read...clinically insane) boss in all the FF game. It is still hard to beat "I Garland, will knock you all down!"

I just realized I don't see boss from FF10! LOL!
