I'm not too worried about my score. I got 2405 on high and 3403 on low. I don't need to have everything turned on, so it's more than enough for me.

One thing that seems to be coming out of discussions about the beta is that the benchmark is a harsh mistress and the game is playable (at least solo) on machines less powerful than most of us thought would be the case.

That said, this is still only beta though I imagine the engine will be further optimised ahead of final retail release.

I have recently upgraded my main rig in an attempt to max this as much as possible but I am also hopeful I can play at lowest settings and solo on my Alienware M11X for those times when I am away from home. That scored only 1200 on the benchmark (and that was after overclocking).

5707 on high - I'm pretty confident that my rig will last me the lifetime of FFXIV :)

Hey papanurf - good to see another Australian around!

I ordered my new rig last week and should be getting pretty soon - hoping for around the same as you, late 5000's. Will play on high res - will pick up jaw off of desk regularly!

Actually I have an 80 GB SSD only, and it comes in at 7.7. It's an Intel X-25M.

My processor holds me back at 7.6.

Since your processor is 7.8 or higher and your 1080p benchmark is over 6000, your processor must be good. 980?

Interesting. I only went with something like a 32 GB SSD for boot and then popped on a 1TB 7200 RPM drive for data. I wonder if Windows is complaining about that one, though I had hoped that my score would only reflect my boot partition. Or maybe Corsair is better off sticking to RAM and PSUs and I should have looked into a better SSD.

And yeah, I saved, scraped, and pinched every flipping penny to pick up the 980x for my tower. I'm only building one and I'm making it last as long as I can -- which in computer gaming terms seems like it'll be maybe two years haha.

I'm thinking it looks at both of the drives. I'll probably end up having to get a 1TB 7200 RPM drive also (unless I just buy a 2nd SSD lol)

Got the same setup as you. AMD 3.4 and GTX 470 but I have my CPU OC'd to 4.0 ghz and the Video card oc'd and I get 4100 on high.

Awesome, that's a big jump. Potential for improvement is good...
Got room for a 2nd 470 as well, but I'm happy with it as is for now...

I've got an i7 960 on the way along with a ati 5970, so all should go well if i can put the expensive puzzle together. Sadly i'm going to have to use my tv for a monitor as those parts prevented me from buying a new one. I was stoked for that situation until it dawned on me that i only have a 720p TV. Hopefully it still looks amazing on there until i come across a true HD display in the future.

Oh, wow, you're gonna be running a 5970 at 720p. >.<;; Talk about slapping yourself over the head. =/

I'm good for now. My monitor isn't 1080 so low for me anyway. When I get money for a GTX 460 1GB I'll be golden.

Phenom II x4 965 125w @3.8GHz
4GB DDR3 1333 @6-7-6-18 1400MHz
8800 GTS SSC 640MB X2 SLI <----weakest link

Actually, I'd recommend you to go with a GTX 470 instead if you can afford it. You won't be seeing -that- much of an improvement from what you already have with a GTX 460. I have a similar build (955 + 460), and these are my results:

CPU @ 3.2, GPU @ 800/2000 (stock settings)
Low: 4,120
High: 2,895

CPU @ 4.0, GPU @ 900/2060 (OCed)
Low: 4,754
High: 3,266

LOL! It will mean another player online at unusual times due to time differences. I am looking forward to grabbing FFXIV first thing on 22 September - we should be 11-15 hours of the Europeans and Amerians. Servers should not be too busy for the first few hours!
