Bit by bit I've been upgrading my computer here and there and the more I come to think about it the more I realize I'll be gaming primarily on my PC for the next few years thanks to FFXIV alone. So, with that said, I'm going to bite the bullet and upgrade my processor. Currently I'm happy using my current setup since I can achieve a score of 3600 on low and 2300 on high. Since I play on a 1440x900 monitor the high res score doesn't concern me as much... But if I'm gonna keep playing I may as well try something a little more modern. Anyway, here's what I'm looking at:
Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor BX80605I5750
EVGA P55 LE 123-LF-E653-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ700MXSP 700W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7
Note this motherboard doesn't have dual PCIe so I can't run Crossfire but I really don't care since I only intend to have one video card anyway.
After a ram upgrade next week a new processor, motherboard, and power supply is actually all I'll need. Should I want to use a better monitor I have a Samsung 2333HD 1920x1080 monitor that serves as a television in my room I can use. And the Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse set I use suit me perfectly fine. My card by the way is an ASUS CuCore HD5770.
