I know, but that still does not tell me how I would set my avatar.

Avatar Selection under your user control panel. It's pretty basic

I tried that, uploaded a picture then went to select it and it is not there, however it is under my images tab.

Assuming you've paid for premium:

1. Click "Account"
2. Either click on the image where your avatar would normally display, or click "Avatar Selection" below it.
3. Click "Add Image" on the right
4. Upload your image from its location. You might need to do some cropping to get it to fit.
5. After you've uploaded your image, select it in the "Avatar Selection" panel.
6. Voila. Give it a little time, sometimes they don't display for a few minutes.

I figured it out, your avatar has to be a certain size. Didn't think what I uploaded was that big but I guess it was.

Thanks everyone for the help.

120x120 is the max size for an avatar. It has to be 120x120 or smaller.

Thanks everyone anyways, wish they said the size limits, or maybe I just wish I saw where they said the size limits.

Yeah I should have known since almost all forums have that as a size limit.
