FF14 Benchmark & Beta OpeningFollow

I'm not in the beta, but I have a question related to this.

In the Benchmark, the character you're following is on a boat and experiences a set of events leading up to the boat arriving at Limsa Lominsa.

My question is this:
When you select the beta and are "quarantined" to LL, do you get the same opening sequence?

Now if the answer to this question is yes, that brings me to something to consider.

If you can start in any city, does that mean that each city has its own unique intro, and thus each city might then have its own different storyline. This brings up a dilemma. Do you make three characters to follow three storylines? Or do you observe a storyline, delete, observe a second storyline, delete, observe third storyline and pick/delete which one you want to start off with?

I'd imagine you can change allegiances to experience all the story lines if you wish. I read somewhere that each city does have its own unique intro scene.

Seeing as Limsa Lominsa is the only city open to the beta, sit tight and wait for other cities to open up (possibly at release) and you'll have your answer, because one doesn't exist yet.

If I were to speculate I could say that there would probably be a unique opening cutscene for each city (like in FFXI) but that's still just speculation. Just sit tight and wait.

Mostly each city has its own different intro, and each should have a different storyline, just like FFXI. Also in FFXI you could switch towns to do that storyline for a small fee.
I'm sure that FFXIV be just like FFXI in that way. So for a small gil fee you can change the city, and do that storyline, but wont know until game comes out.

I, too, read that each city has their own opening sequence. I'd assume the plot, as well, differs depending on which city you choose, but that I'm not 100% sure of. Judging by the trailers, though, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.

Ul'dah all the way; I can't wait to see how that story unfolds. 8)

I'm fairly certain you can switch allegiance at any time, but would the cut-scene be a one-time thing only available to newly created characters? I mean from the benchmark cutscene we can likely ascertain that the character is important to the storyline, but certainly not an accomplished fighter/caster/crafter at that point. I'm certain the intro scenes are likely very exciting to experience, and then that begs the question. Look at all three and pick one or go blind and pick one (the most fun imho because it adds replay value).

You don't get the intro CS again when you changed nations in FFXI.

Yes, with two spots where you are allowed to take control of your character. One to walk him to the upper deck, and a quick battle tutorial. Don't worry if you started as a crafter/gatherer class; you will have help from NPCs.

Found it; I was already Rank 10 San d'Oria and Rank 10 Windurst when I joined Bastok, and here's the intro CS with me being a level 75 BLM.

From what I've seen of other people playing beta, the intro is more like a tutorial. I wouldn't imagine that they would go through all of that again when you change allegiances.
