This is what happens when you take two 5870s and jam them together. It even outperforms a 5970. In fact, they throw in a briefcase and a mouse. No, I'm not exaggerating.

Interesting thing I notice is that the 5970 is, in fact, two 5870s put together but with lowered clock speeds to adjust for voltage/temperature. It is possible to OC a 5970 to the effect of two 5870s and more with the right cooling.

All of this is according to newegg reviews and tomshardware articles though and I have no personal experience with it. Just found it interesting that at that price you could get two 5970s for nearly twice the graphical power.

tomshardware.com wrote:
3200 shader processors. There isn't much more we need to say about the brutal rendering muscle that characterizes the world's fastest graphics card, the Radeon HD 5970. With two Radeon HD 5870 GPUs onboard, the only things we can complain about are scant availability and an extremely high price tag. Availability has improved over time; the price not so much. But if you're in the market for this card, price probably isn't an issue.

Apparently, based upon the articles and reviews listed, this will do much more than that. Seems to me that this card would play ffxiv, create world peace, and impregnate every virgin on Earth...all at the same time.

Yeah, it's just that good.

With a card that powerful, I'd better be able to play FFXIV on a movie theater screen.

In 3D 6D.

Standard controller, keyboard, controller/keyboard, keyboard/mouse, or do you have to bring your own? Also, do you have to bring your own 3D6D glasses?

The sad thing is if I had enough money to buy that I would be more likely to buy a better car than a new computer. I'd really have to be raking in the dough in order to justify buying a computer worthy of two of those cards.

Can only be bought as a combo with the rest of the asus/intel gear (combo is below and includes pretty much everything but a kitchen sink). Newegg has some videos on youtube showing it being built and the case. Though for 7.1k USD price tag (6.4k after discount), I'd rather go with an extra car to drive or paying off my student loans :P.

Edit: It's a nice rig, but I really don't like the case. I prefer my cases to be subtle and somewhat blend into the room.

FTFY, and he'll have to bite my finger off to get it. Maybe more than one, depending on the size of the card.

Sam: Stay strong! You must prevail! All of middle-earth is depending on us.

For that much you could have two Crossfired 5970's which would easily outperform it.

You would only be able to use 2 of the cards because of the 4 GPU limit.

You're building a math box. DirectCompute can use as many GPUs as you can cram into the case.
