Wireless card between GPU's?Follow

Very quick question for the community.

Things are starting to get a little crowded inside my case. I have two 5870's, a liquid cooling unit and a decent size PSU.

The only remaining space that I can fit my wireless network card is actually in a slot between the two graphics cards. Are there any hardware related reasons why I shouldnt put this between the cross fired cards? (physically it fits and I dont think heat will be an issue - I am more concerned about data "blockage" on the motherboard)

If it fits, then it should work.

Yup, if it fits it should work. Especially if you're using a bridge for your two cards, they will be communicating directly with each other anyway instead of through the motherboard.

Yeah, there won't be any data blockage that I know of. The only possible issue is if the wireless card generates any heat. Then obviously it will put more stress on your GPU. Should be easy to test. Test idle temp of your xfire cards with and w/o the wifi card, and see if there is a change.

Funny story, one of my GPU's sits next to a metal wall between the main case chamber and the PSU chamber. When you pull them out, you can tell which one it is because the sticker on the card has faded a lot more Smiley: laugh
