It should be at least, but if you played xi you'll know that these are probably not boss fights.

Yeah. It's a Gobbu and a Molboro. Not bosses, but from what I hear they are pretty beefy mobs in Beta. I don't know if those players are beta participants, because I'm not sure you can get that strong in beta. But it cool to see higher geared and skilled players none the less.

I love the first post about how boring it looks. Seems the fact that you're not in a high color low bit world with blocky "toons" rules it as boring.

Was it just me, or did the game seem laggy in that vid?

Nice shots of Gobbue and Malboro tho.

Looked pretty, I hope they're not really "bosses" though, but who knows.

I think the "lag" was just the video being choppy

This is also likely because it's being played by people who really have no idea what's going on - even solo in the beta, gameplay moves quicker. At the moment it IS slower than intended, but this is UI/animation lag that will hopefully be fixed by release.

It was driving me nuts. They were only using 1 attack and letting the stamina meta fill back up.

Even with the lag it's faster than that. I really want them to free up some of the input lag. It's awful.

I agree. I mean, the only mainstream video presentation this game gets is in these game show demos where the people playing have no idea how fast the combat can actually be. Mislabeling the videos once you post them to the net sure doesn't help either.

Just look at the two comments for the video. Things like this don't generate good buzz for the game. Oh well.

pretty much. the video didnt do the game justice. its like 11 but only showing video of auto attacks, which is pretty much all i saw in this video. that wouldnt create a buzz amongst the kids who are used to MMOs being button mashing ability spams. this video is just fuel for anti FF trolls

Yeah, it looked like a prettier FFXI party...

...But that isn't entirely bad. :)

Yeah, I'd hope that's not a boss fight, but that pretty much sums up where battles are at right now.

The interesting thing is that monster placement and spawning areas haven't been refined yet so there are really easy mobs next to IT+++ mobs. I found this out the hard way.

You don't think that is on purpose? It would teach people to learn the land more - one way or the other

I've seen a large party try to take that mob and get owned.

Yeah, I can see how that would make adventurers more cautious when attacking mobs. It just seems that the spawning zones at this moment are set up to hinder soloing effectively. There are some pockets of easier mobs to kill, but more often than not, they're too scattered to be worth the effort.

Then again, the /check system is a little sketchy at the moment too (and I assume this is being looked at as mob strength is being adjusted). I attacked a mob which was reading to me as a "Decent Challenge" and it 3-shotted me. I was highly amused by this, lol.

Leveling isn't like in FFXI though, you get guildleves that tell you specific mobs to kill. You don't just go around killing everything in sight anymore...I guess unless you enjoy that...but I prefer Diablo type games for mindless carnage.
