Hello everyone :)

I've been looking into XIV and I must say im getting excited for the games release. So I ran the benchmark on my comp and scored 1059. I was looking for a scale to compair to, anyone have a link or tell me if that is a decent score?

Any info would be appreciated!!

Athan showed me this when i was looking at computer part comparison a week or two ago:

But upon re reading your post i believe you were after something more like this:
[8000 and over] Extremely High Performance
Easily capable of running the game on the highest settings.
[5500–7999] Very High Performance
Easily capable of running the game. Should perform exceptionally well, even at higher resolutions.
[4500-5499] High Performance
Easily capable of running the game. Should perform well, even at higher resolutions.
[3000-4499] Fairly High Performance
Capable of running the game on default settings. Consider switching to a higher resolution depending on performance.
[2500-2999] Standard Performance
Capable of running the game on default settings.
[2000-2499] Slightly Low Performance
Capable of running the game, but may experience some slowdown. Adjust settings to improve performance.
[1500-1999] Low Performance
Capable of running the game, but will experience considerable slowdown. Adjusting settings is unlikely to improve performance.
[Under 1500] Insufficient Performance
Does not meet specifications for running the game.

You might want to look in to upgrading or buying a new rig if you want the best of the games graphics if your budget allows. And if not, you could probably run the game on super super low settings across the board and only have major lag in conjested areas and most likely some stuttering away from them also.
I scored about a 700 on my laptop, and it plays the beta, albeit very very poorly.

well if you turn everything down you should be able to run the game on low settings - but from what I am hearing from beta players it will still look nice but probably laggy. People here may be able to advise you about the cheapest ways to improve your performance.

I scored a 2500 on my old computer and I can run it on lowest settings in 1440x900 res with some lag. There aren't a bunch of people running around though, I figure it'd be toast at that point.

wow, I find that hard to believe considering I just recently bought this comp

Windows 7 64-bit
6gb ddr3
1tb hard drive
nvidia gt 220 (1gb mem processing)

and yet I still score for the lowest res for the game? During the benchmark it rarely lagged and looked stunning, so if that low rez in game i'd be perfectly fine with that :P

And the processor...?

That video card is definitely a part of the problem.

According to this chart: HTTP://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
...you're #147. That, too, could certainly be a problem.

Honestly, I'm no tech pro, but I still see your video card and processor as outpoints here. I recommend you consult this thread: http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?game=268&mid=1278136129165719075&page=1&howmany=50#msg1278136129165719075
...and seek further advice.

IMO, You'll definitely be needing an upgrade unless you plan on running the game at its absolute lowest settings (if at all), as much as that sucks to hear.

I saw somewhere they will be releasing a new benchmark soon. Personally this benchmark isn't accurate.

Throw a nice video card in there and you're scoring a lot better.

For whatever reason, the benchmark has been performing a lot differently than it used to. I'm getting less than half the score I used to, despite having more performance-optimizing options turned on.
