Looks like it's about creating the landscapes.

I love these videos they make. They seem like they really enjoy their work and they've put a lot of effort into this game. I really want it to be the best MMORPG I've ever played so bad!

Great video but I am going to be quite upset if they post all the making of videos on youtube. What will be the point of me getting the Making of DVD with my CE then?

Indeed, they're giving away free what we pay extra for! Of course that's not the only reason to get the CE, but still, that's besides the point...

Just an assumption since the DVD will be "an insider look at the making of FFXIV"

I assumed this too. I'm hoping this isn't the case. Eh. :/

Well, most of these "making of a realm" videos seem to be about 3-4 minutes in length.

I'm hoping the DVD that comes with the CE is at least an hour or two. Will give us something to watch on September 22nd while the game updates and patches.
Hopefully the DVD will have english subtitles as well.

I'm totally in love with how the graphics look. Even with the compressed youtube videos, it still seems amazing. I can hardly imagine how amazing it will look when (hopefully) I log in on September 22nd. I can see myself just standing in Gridania in complete awe.

Anyone want to go find a nice spot for the first sunrise and sunset? =)

Nice video! I love that structure that looked like an earthen spire with dragon remains stuck inside...very cool.

And I also realized I had missed the third video! I am ashamed, especially since that's where they mentioned the golden subligar!

I'm fairly certain that that spire is the same thing we've seen in a lot of the trailers, with the dragon wrapped around it and the shaft of light coming up. It seems like that scene is something we'll see in the past as part of our special ability as adventurers. That's just my speculation, but it was the very first thing I thought of when I saw that.

The new zones look stunning. I am very skeptical towards SE but if there is one thing they know how to do, it's make a beautiful world.

With that though, does anyone else think Limsa Lominsa/La Noscea looks considerably uglier then the rest of the places we have seen? I have a feeling that is why they had the beta start there. Hopefully they have some nice tweaks for the area come release.

I love how they talk about how they planned out the planet and the solar system before even designing the continent or maps. Kinda over the top, but that's SE for you.

The layouts look great.

I don't think it's uglier, I just think we're accustomed to seeing it.
Gridania and Ul'Dah seem shiny and new.
La Noscea is a different kind of landscape. Plains with cliffs and very few trees. It's beautiful in it's own way. =)

Yes, it's refreshing to see this. I wonder if the floating city/castle will be the new Jeuno or Whitegate? It isn't a starting city, least that I can tell.

They have put alot of work into this game, and yes it does really show. Everyone cries about party play vs solo, or other bugs on the game, but the story and environments will be as equally if not more important.

The fact that the world is so large and detailed, and that there is still so much we do not know or haven't seen, shows this will not be your everyday ordinary MMO. After launch I believe this game will grow even more, and I for one do not believe that they put this much effort into this, to simply fail.

I can't see the video, but this reminds me of FF 2? (U.S.) and traveling to the moon.

It would be amazing if there was 'off-world' transportation or play. Attention to detail, like that, really make games for me.

I didn't even think of it in that way, but if they added the ability to travel to a moon or another planet in XIV, it would certainly make 14 one of the very few (not only, but very few) games that does this.

Those people are generally aged movie critics who have the ignorant idea that games are still made in the style of Super Mario Bros. or worse, Pong.

Said aged movie critics have also self-proclaimed they have never played any game in the past 15 years and chose to critisize it >.> (He recently said that Games can be art but only to those that play games and thus the rest of the world can look at them as exempt =P)
