So... as we all know SE told the ZAM admins they will be getting codes to give out to us very eager members for beta access. So ZAM announces it and kept their end of the bargain. We all applied, over 3,000 of us...

As you all are aware they told them to delay things... for one reason or another. As far as I know... no one has won this yet, please correct me if I am wrong on that part. So as far as I know, no one has won. And now... now... Open beta is starting in a few weeks... Well SE were is ZAMs beta codes? When is this amazing community going to be allowed a chance to play? The day before you open your open beta? Because at this rate... thats what is going to happen.

Edit: It's not like we should not have expected it... SE has always... ALWAYS pushed everything back... I.E. New Summons... Jug Pets... How long has Wings of the Goddess been out now and you have to basically buy 3 new mini expansions to level up to finish it now... So basically Wings was a 60$ investment for the long time players.

I have to agree completely. Everyone keeps saying after Gamecom is over we'll get them ( whenever that is ) but to tell you the truth, the illuminating light of hope that once shone upon me for winning one of the codes is now faint. SE is a bloody mess with giving out codes currently, and there isn't really a straight reason as to why.

I think that by "open" beta they mean that it will be ok to post videos and other things and not that it will be open for anyone to play. So you will still need a code to get in.

Latest rumor is that keys might go out tomorrow, if you believe Fileplanet's twitter account that is.

I like latest rumor... But I am kinda sick of getting my hopes up....
I would really just like to know if I won or lost, so I know if I should pack my desktop up when I go down to Florida for a month to take several police tests.

I don't think Gamescom has anything to do with this. The people doing the work on the servers are very likely still back in Japan.

Yeah, pay Fileplanet $7 for the unlikely chance at entering beta and having my hopes and dreams shattered by all the bugs and QQ? No thanks. I'll only let my hopes and dreams be shattered by the glorious beta key rewarded to me by the angelically divine ZAM forums. <3

It's almost to the point now that I could care less whether I get into beta or not. I want to play a lot, don't get me wrong, but the original desire to be in Beta was to be helpful in shaping the game. I'm not interested really in playing an unfinished game for the sole purpose of saying I played it.

One month is not long to wait for the actual release, I seriously can't wait for September 22nd. I'd almost prefer my first experiences at this point to be when the game is ready.

This whole beta key thing is not boding well for SE. I feel for everyone that's being strung along.

Yeah thumbs down to SE for failing to deliver

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.
