Shino, uTorrent is gonna take a while to speed up, let it run for about 2 hrs and you'll see really good results!

Yeah, it probably just has to build up. Might take a nap anyway.

Just to update everyone I've been running it between 130-220kbps, all it took was about an hour or so to kick in. At 59%. Gnight!

You should probably get an ISP that isn't violating FCC regulations on internet traffic... just sayin'

I'm not sure you have a recourse here. The retail version will undoubtedly have non-P2P options such as full package downloads of the uncompressed client (probably not from SE but I'd be shocked if others didn't set them up)

I do know that if you can find someone irl that has the game you can just copy it from them. I installed it on my laptop by just pushing it across my network here and it works perfectly fine.

Ahh well right now i don't know anyone in the beta so I am a little out of luck there. And as for the ISP I only get one to choose from (other than doing DSL ugh) so I am a bit stuck there. I guess I will try it at a different location and see if they aren't restricted.

Interesting... I was fortunate enough to get an email tonight :).

Did as it instructed but when I log into the beta site it just shows the next button and kicks me out. Don't think I have anything that'd prevent a connection running and made sure to log out of Square Enix too. Oh well, that Fileplanet beta link helped a lot... thanks!

im so lost with the beta client. the DL was too slow so i used Utorrent to DL the 7 files. then i clicked my ff xiv desktop icon to see if it would recognized the files and it dosent. i moved the files to the same place that the beta client is trying to DL them to (ffxiv-beta}d96437e6}patch). that didnt work. then i thought that they might be in the wrong spot so i sent them to metainfo instead and that didnt work. basically i need to know step buy step what to do after i get the files from Utorrent. thanks for the help im a computard

Client has been downloading for over 24 hours now. 27.2% of the first file is complete.

In the last ten hours the estimator has dropped from an estimated 15 hours to an estimated 14 hours 50 minutes.

Never thought I'd see the day when I was wishing for an 8 hour update.
