Please note that testers added during Beta Test phase 3 do not have the ability to report bugs, or post feedback on the Beta Test website.

This seriously boggles my mind, does anyone have a legitimate reasoning to why they would do this? Reporting bugs especially that's a real WTF to me. I wanted to get in this beta and help out on this stuff but it looks they don't want it >.>

The way you help them is by playing the game however you want and letting them measure how people play the game.

Truth is it is the end of beta. When Fileplanet starts selling keys you know you are in Marketing Beta mode.

From my understanding, beta testers from phase 2 cant do bug reports. They're limiting people depending on the phase. At this rate, Open Beta testers won't be able to log on to their site at all. :P

I can see reasons for restricting forums, but blocking bug reports really boggles me, for any kind of tester.

It's probably just a stress test for the most part at this point.

I actually think it's a glitch and not intentional. I am having this issues too, but at the top of the screen it shows me as a random username every time and I seem to adopt that users settings when there name is up there.

Interesting.
Marketing Beta?
Server Stress test?

I can't see many other reasons.
I'll bet they have their hands full with the stuff they already want to improve.

I have no idea how the development of video games go but I'll make an educated guess:

Maybe SE was looking for big bugs in the first alpha and betas.

Now they're getting rid of their underlying debugging code and seeing how the game performs in a semi-real setting.

Heck, there were bugs in WoW a few months if not a year after release. I remember falling through the earth and having to call a GM (or use a ticket or whatever) to get out.

So maybe SE is assuming that some bugs won't be caught until there are a lot more people playing, and that that can only happen in a more streamlined client.

OR

The financial directors of SE are telling them they need to speed up the process at whatever cost.

Who knows. :/

Stress Test for Open Beta. They actually get bug reports directly through the game code the way they designed it. Its part of the reason all the menu's in the game are laggy. They got tools operating in the background monitoring your every keystroke and mouse movement to find out right when something goes wrong or unintended. Before Beta phase 2 started they mainly wanted people debating and giving feedback of the general game concepts and ways to improve them. They got those now and open beta is just for last time stress testing at this point. When the 'fixes' for those concepts they asked for debate happen though is anyones guess at this point. Could be launch or it could be several updates down the road. After reading the lastest interview info from Famitsu its pretty clear they intended to have the first several months of the game as a paid beta testing in disguise as a launch :/. Well at least whenever the PS3 version is released they can call it a relaunch or something!

Because despite what we have heard from serveral know it alls this is just a time to demo the game and stress test the servers. If they specificly make it where you cant leave feedback its because they dont want your feedback.

Although this comes off as rather confrontational, I came to the same conclusion when I got in in phase 3.

Because, put bluntly, they've heard it all before.

The last thing they want is another 10,000 reports repeating what long term testers have already said.

Its only confrontational to the people who have been spouting misinformation about what this beta phase is all about.

it's a single guest account shared by all P3 testers. It's working as intended.

To clarify:

Only phase 1 ALPHA testers can make a bug report.

And only up to phase I beta can post in the forums.

Reason: there are already way too many people using it as their own personal blog and posting up **** storms.

Whether this is or not a good reason, I can't say.
