So for those of you with more know-how of the game, is there currently a way to reallocate your stats? I'd hate to build as a thaumaturge, then try gladiator and be gimped because I can only allocate "some" points to my actual stats.

I wish they'd just let us set points differently for each class

I heard one poster say that you could change 20% of your stats upon leveling. I have no idea how it actually works though.

If it works like it sounds, you can't go from one extreme to another quickly.

You are correct sir, though i'm not sure about the percentage.
You can reallocate at anytime, but you can't reallocate all your points.
For instance, if you had 100 points spread out among STR,DEX, and VIT, you can redistribute points to INT,MND, or PIE, but you won't be able to use all 100 points. I think it's closer to 50% than 20%, but i only did it once, so i'm not too sure.

Edit: SP

if its on a timer thats fine but in a game where ease of class change is supposed to be a big thing, this could be a real downgrade since you can change classes but your stats will be gimped anyways (possibly).

Question lets say its 20% or 50%...after I reallocate those, is it as above said where after a timer I can reallocate more of them? So basically, with a little time could I change all my stats?

Well, that's why stat points have soft caps. Here's what i mean:
I got to 41 STR, and STR started costing 2 points. So i decided to put points in other stats for a 1-1 ratio rather than waste points on a 2-1. They really don't want people to have all STR or any stat, but you can. It will just cost you.

people will min/max these in order to play a chosen class at its absolute best, if some of these stats are permanent, it seriously hampers the "one character for everything" idea.

I agree with you. I just wonder what the best max is. If you are a melee, and don't have any self cures, then i can see not putting points into mage stats. What melee isn't going to want a self cure though. MP works differently, and mages are going to have to rely on melee to have self cures. It's all very complicated lol.
