So i have all ready pre ordered FFxiv, but i don't have a PC that is in working condition. Iv seen the specs that are recommended for running the game smooth, But i'm working with a $600 to $700 budget would i be able to cover what i need for that price rang?

Well.. TBH, You're better off going with an AMD machine on a budget.

You can build a pretty nice quad-core with under 700, complete.

Question is, are you savvy enough to pull it off, or do you want a pre-built machine?


Buy something like this: Phenom II 955 w/ 1gb ATi 4650 (though it has a weak PS)

Also this: Another NewEgg Phenom II PC

Also this from tigerdirect: Amd Phenom II x3, ATi 4350, etc

I think you need to answer a few questions first:

1) do you need a monitor, keyboard and mouse? (or just the box?)
2) are you looking for a pre-build or parts to build?
3) do you need to include the cost of an operating system?
4) how well do you want to run the game?
In this life you are nothing without someone else to think so.

There is a sticky on this topic at the top of the general forum page. There are a lot of posts, but Lamneth did a good job in the beginning of laying things out. You may try posting your question there as well.

thanks for the tips, but yes i have mouse and keyboard, no i'm not looking for a pre-build more kits than any thing, no i didn't include operating system, and want to run FFXIV on medium setting without any to much lag. other then that i was thinking AMD so thank you so again for the help
