So the point of this is that all the negative people were only negative because they had first hand experience with an intentionally half baked product, and those of us defending said product are now going to complain?

The only thing I'll complain about is the downloader, it's flawed. granted the general population jumping over to torrents doesn't help one bit, but ultimately that's the only flaw you can gripe about. Everything else you have the power to change, or at least attempt to be loud enough that it's changed.

Being loud about it, even in forums like this with a heavy support for the series, is going to do nothing but help ensure that the servers are a bit more quiet on launch day. Keep your ******** about the game etc... to the official forums (that are horribly organised), maybe suggest helpful workaround (legal ones) for the more predominant issues... ultimately though the point is to FIND the bugs, not find hacks, workaround, etc... that does the final product no good.

Fun fact: Beta testers added in phase 3 can't report bugs and can't use the official forums

As for the downloader, the other major problem with it is that once a person is done patching they don't become a seed, the patch data gets deleted, so the only true seeds are SE's servers, this causes issues as you might imagine if you understand how peer-to-peer works.

I made serveral feedback posts on the offical forums. My mistake was I came here and read posts from people who had absolutely no idea what they were talking about and I made comments that were based on actual playing time and not speculation and youtube videos. At first I was confused as to why my responses were challenged by people who werent even playing the game and after I while I just decided to keep posting what I felt the truth was and enjoy watching people defend SE like they completely forgot how SE screwed us in FFXI with the banning random accounts because they did things that APPEARED to be RMT related or just pretty much in general didnt listen to ANY suggestions until the game was on the downhil slide 5~ years after release.

This. The game is fun. There is lots to do. I will admit I was wrong about MP really being an issue (It's not - so far, anyway). The downloader is just broken, at least for some people - I don't think it has anything to do with jumping ship from the SE seed. I know it was just not behaving like a proper torrent on my end. I couldn't get any connections - and no speed boost when I did, yada yada.

Otherwise - the griping I've heard about guildleves just hasn't panned out really. I did a couple to get the feel of things and a little cash, then I bought botanists tools and went on my way, killing rats, logging and harvesting. Even the UI isn't quite as bad as people are making it out to be... and what ARE people complaining about with the mouse? Maybe I am just not used to using mouse in my MMOs but it seemed to work fine.

I haven't run into the surplus exp issue yet but I figure if I keep on changing things up it shouldn't be a big problem. I may be wrong. I can see how the stat allocation system might make it difficult to switch between DoW and DoM frequently, but I haven't even been allocating my stats and I am easily grinding levels - so any gimping probably won't be an issue until later levels.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

I think the issue with guildleves came in-part from the fact that at the beginning of phase 3 you'd get like 3000+ exp and skill points for killing a rat for a guildleve, which made you REALLY notice when you weren't doing them. Now that this isn't the case anymore it's not so bad and you just start thinking about guildleves as a means of getting stuff
