Downloader won't launch; got a link for full client torrent?Follow

I, and apparently a LOT of other people, can't get the downloader to even launch. I've been through the beta forums, core's forums, and ZAM's forums, and no one has any idea why this is happening to people.

So... since SE isn't helping people with this, does anyone have a reliable link to a full client torrent or free download? I'm looking for the full game here, not just the patch torrent files. Hopefully, I can get around the downloader's launching issues if I can get the full game or ffxivsetup.exe file.

I'm open to other solutions, but if you're just guessing or going to recommend driver updates, etc. I'm waaay past that stage of trying to figure this out (as I'm sure the 100s of others who posted this problem in the beta forum are too).

Thanks for the help and patience everyone.

If the Downloader isn't opening to download the rest of the client downloading the files yourself won't help anything.

The Downloader (ffxivboot.exe) is always the first thing to load to check for updates. You can't skip it and make the game run by itself.

Edit:

Having seen your other post.

Your specs:

My specs:
Vista SP2
Directx 11
Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4
2GB RAM
Nvidia 7950 GT
All drivers have been updated

Are very low to be running the game. Your CPU and RAM are just at the minimum and your graphics card is brutally under powered. Some people might get lucky and be able to get the game to run on that but its likely not even playable and a waste of time in general be fighting with it.

Yea, unfortunately he is right, if you can't get the updater to launch you won't be able to play the beta, even if you have the game fully updated.

Is it crashing out, or just not launching?

Wow.

I have a beta key. I can't play the beta. No one knows why.

Thanks for the heads up, Cherbr; at least I can stop trying to go about it that way. It's crashing out; all I see is a black window, then the "stopped working" message.

His client just won't launch. It crashes everytime. We allready walked him through known fixes, so it's hard to say what will help at this point.

I didn't mean this to turn into another "help" thread, so sorry about that if it annoys anyone. It's just frustrating to have access and not be able to get in, and have no solution out there other than a new PC (which isn't going to happen for a bit).

/sigh, I'm having the same issues but I've given up, for now. Gonna get a new gfx card to see if that is the problem. I'm almost positive it is.

Does your graphics card have at least 512 MB VRAM? If it doesn't, the game will never, ever run.

You really do need a new graphics card. If that still doesn't work for you (but i think it will), just PM Wooshoo for a different solution, assuming this one works.

I'm not even sure a 512mb vram card will work at all. I have yet to see someone post a card like that and say it worked.
Nevermind having it work in a Vista machine.

Hmm, i wonder if there is some sort of sharing video ram issue with vista that is causing an issue. I apologize if i sound ignorant, but i totally skipped over vista lol.

I had one that was 128 MB in an old desktop that wouldn't run it at all. It stopped crashing once I changed cards around and used a better one that had 512 MB (geforce 8800 gt). The performance was still pretty awful though, struggled to hit over 10 fps on the lowest settings.

Well, i guess that settles that then. :)

P.S. look at his card above. It isn't a terrible card by any means, but i just think he's gonna want to upgrade that.

I just hope that is indeed my problem. I ended up with vista because I bought this pc about 3 years ago same time vista came out almost. I guess I just thought it was the "new" thing back then. :P
