Loving the Beta, graphics are amazing (to the point that I went into config and turned everything up just to see how good they could get, and ended up freezing my computer and **** near overheating my gfx card Smiley: lol) story is involved so far and the battle system is actually fun..

But I'm having some really basic trouble because I haven't had time to figure it out on my own yet and didn't see any in game like tutorial of how to do it. I only just finished the first Tutorial Battle Leve so I'm not very progressed story wise (or level, only rank 4)

1st) How do you save your UI changes? Every single time I log out they reset and I have to reposition them everytime. Maybe it's just a beta thing, but it is slightly annoying.

2nd) Where do I go to get a new weapon to switch classes? Aside from like buying one out of a Bazaar? I wanted to try a hand at crafting or something else and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to switch.

3rd) Is there any Leves or otherwise that encourage partying, besides a higher difficulty/reward? So far I have yet to see any interaction between people besides asking for shards or advice on something.

1. I don't think they save, I think it's because it's beta.

2. There are no places to buy upgraded weapons yet. Everyone is using noob gear pretty much. The northern and southern parts of Limsa are blocked off and there is only one weapon vendor, so I'm wondering if they will expand on this. Also wondering if they will improve search of retainers.

3. Not sure, but I did try a level 5 leve with a group of 6 ppl the other day, wiped. Tried again, wiped. The level 5 leves are hard, and if that's where you get the nice stuff from, people are going to have a ball with those.

1. I haven't messed much with the UI, but I've heard a lot of people say that only certain changes get saved, others reset each time.

2. Upper Level LL, Thundersquall Thundersticks near the aetheryte sells all the starter weapons, but no shield...most of the gather/craft items can be found in East & Wet Hawkers Alley on the lower level...and of course the fishing guild for a starter pole and an awesome hat

3. I haven't come across any so far...

Sorry I misread your question number 2. All the starter weapons are at Thundersticks, Hawkers Alley, and the guilds.

You mean 5-star leves? I was able to solo a few of those, even though I've died several times as a result (if I get ganked by a rogue mob). But I can't imagine having trouble with a group.

We tried a 5 star leve at the ~rank 10 camp, can't remember what it was called, and I think most of us weren't rank 10 or higher, so it ended poorly.

1. What exactly do you mean UI changes? I mean I don't even know you can change any of the UI except for the action bar. My action bar didn't change when I log out, but it'll only reset to Heavy Strike when switched to another weapon/tool. I think this can be fixed with macro.

2. People have answered this one, so I'm not gonna talk about it.

3. I tried low level leves with groups and solo, it's true that people can solo a 5-star rank 1 leve, but I think it's totally reasonable, simply because we don't have much weapon skills and abilities to use. For the first 4 ranks of my Pugilist, I've been just spamming Heavy Strike and Concussion Blow on rats. When I was fighting those little dragons at rank 6, it required some more strategies to kill it. I'm pretty sure when different classes get more skills, such as Gladiator gets more tanking skills, then 5-stars leves will definitely require a bigger group of people to do.

Camp bearded rock leves are so easy they shouldn't even have difficulty levels. Once you get above rank 10 and even more so as you get to 20, the harder you set the difficulty the leve starts getting much much harder.

I did a leve with 5 people all ranks 9-12, we set it at 5 star and ended up fight 2 groups of 3 Dodo's that were all red. Regurgitate was hitting the tank for 400, and one shotting anyone else. We ended up failing it by 3 seconds, because the last mob ran and called up a friend. Smiley: lol

So far even 5 star leves are doable in 5 minutes unless you wipe. My biggest gripe about the party system is doing a 5 minute leve, and then having downtime while you activate a new leve and run to area your mobs are at. Do that a few times and it starts to get old real fast. I'd rather be killing mobs than running back and forth to a crystal every 5 min.

The other day I had to wait 30 minutes while someone ran to town from bloodshore, got their leves, and ran back. We had little 5 minute spurts of combat and then it was over. I would have progressed more solo grinding random mobs. I've been wanting to run down to the beach and grind in a 6-man+ PT, but I haven't been able to because everyone would rather do a stupid 5 minute quest. I even tried to start my own PT and got a whopping 1 person to join.

Even if you'd killed #6 before it ran, you would have had to fight #7 anyway. Quite a few of the Skull Valley leves are like that.

Yeah that's the place my group of 6 was fighting, skull valley. We were doing the jellyfish leve on five star. LOL really don't think you can solo that one unless you're at least level 20 already.
